We are looking for a Senior Python Engineer to build an MVP of a first-of-its-kind AI-powered VC due diligence evaluation platform, leveraging a 400+ point checklist based on their corporate experience. The role focuses on backend development, API design, and production integration with LLM models, like OpenAI, vector databases (Milvus) and additional AI services that could provide intelligent responses for the query. This position suits someone who is comfortable working at the intersection of backend engineering, data and OCR and integrating with AI systems.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python (3.12)
- Build and support high-performance REST APIs and service layers
- Implement asynchronous and multithreaded workflows for data processing and AI pipelines
- Integrate with LLMs and RAG-based architectures
- Work with vector databases (Milvus) and object storage (MinIO)
- Design and optimize data models across PostgreSQL and MongoDB
- Implement access control using Casbin
- Ensure performance, scalability, and reliability of backend services
- Collaborate closely with AI engineers, data specialists, and product teams
- Participate in code reviews and technical decision-making
Requirements:
- Strong experience with Python 3.12
- Experience with Litestar (or similar async frameworks like FastAPI)
- Hands-on experience with SQLAlchemy and Alembic
- Experience implementing authorization models (e.g., Casbin)
- Strong understanding of multithreading / concurrency patterns
- Experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB
- Experience with vector databases (Milvus is preferable)
- Experience with Kafka and/or RabbitMQ
- Practical experience with AI / LLM integrations
- Understanding of RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architectures
- Experience with the AWS cloud platform
- English level - upper-intermediate
Nice to have skills:
- Experience with Kubernetes (K8s)
- Experience with LLM providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, open-source models)
- Familiarity with distributed systems and scalable architectures
- Experience with observability tools (logging, monitoring, tracing)
