We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager – Material Inward to oversee end-to-end inbound material operations while ensuring inventory accuracy, process compliance, and efficient warehouse management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the receipt, verification, storage coordination, and documentation of high-value inventory and materials. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory controls, ERP systems, and quality compliance to ensure seamless inward processes and asset protection.
Working closely with procurement, warehouse, quality, finance, logistics, and inventory teams, you will play a key role in maintaining operational efficiency, minimizing discrepancies, and driving continuous process improvements. The position is best suited for professionals with proven experience in warehouse management, inventory control, and handling high-value products in a structured and compliance-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete material inward process, including receiving, verification, documentation, and inventory recording.
- Verify incoming consignments against purchase orders, invoices, delivery challans, and transfer documents to ensure accuracy.
- Ensure accurate weighing, counting, inspection, and recording of incoming materials using standard operating procedures.
- Prepare and process Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs) within defined timelines while maintaining complete documentation.
- Update inventory transactions accurately in ERP and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure proper storage, product identification, barcode/RFID tagging, and inventory traceability.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through regular reconciliation, stock verification, and compliance with inventory control procedures.
- Coordinate with quality and internal teams to ensure incoming materials meet defined quality standards and statutory requirements.
- Monitor compliance with company policies, audit requirements, and inventory governance procedures.
- Ensure secure handling and movement of high-value inventory while adhering to established asset protection protocols.
- Collaborate with procurement, finance, logistics, vendors, and other cross-functional teams to resolve quantity, quality, or documentation discrepancies.
- Supervise warehouse personnel involved in inward operations, allocate daily tasks, and promote adherence to operational standards.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports covering inward status, inventory accuracy, pending receipts, and operational performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes, reduce turnaround times, and support automation initiatives such as barcode/RFID implementation and ERP enhancements.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- 5–8 years of experience in Warehouse Management, Material Inward, Inventory Management, or Warehouse Operations.
- Strong hands-on experience with ERP systems, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and inventory control processes.
- Good understanding of inventory reconciliation, stock management, material documentation, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reporting, data analysis, and operational MIS preparation.
- Experience working with barcode/RFID systems and inventory tracking processes.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proven ability to coordinate effectively with vendors, procurement, logistics, finance, and warehouse teams.
- Leadership experience in supervising warehouse personnel, driving process adherence, and improving team productivity.
