We lead the differentiated positioning of Workday with prospects, customers, and analysts, and ensure our field teams are enabled to tell a clear, compelling story.
Over the next year, the team will focus on launching new offerings that deliver on our agentic AI vision and expand our global coverage, equipping sales to position payroll effectively and driving alignment across all teams involved in payroll GTM.
We value honesty, collaboration, and high‑quality work. We have fun while acting as connectors across the organization, bringing product, marketing, and sales together to deliver impact.
About the Role
As the Principal Product Marketing Manager, Payroll, you will facilitate the GTM strategy for our payroll products, with a focus on launching our latest AI innovations. You will ensure our agentic and AI-enabled payroll vision is translated into practical value for global buyers. In this role, you will:
- Evolve market and competitor research by leveraging AI-driven insights to inform real-time GTM recommendations and messaging pivots.
- Research and analyze competitor and market dynamics and apply findings to messaging and GTM recommendations.
- Partner with Product and Sales to articulate how Workday’s AI and automation capabilities solve traditional payroll complexities.

About You
Basic Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in B2B SaaS product marketing, with a proven ability to lead complex portfolios like HCM or Payroll.
- Expert at building trusted relationships with senior leaders and driving alignment across a matrixed, global organization.
- Skilled at turning intricate concepts into clear, differentiated narratives that highlight the transition from manual processing to automated, "agentic" workflows.
- Ability to explain the "how" behind product features to non-technical audiences.
Other Qualifications
- Experience working with global payroll software, services, or aggregators in a sales, marketing, or related capacity. Proven ability to navigate the complexities of multi-country payroll and payroll buyer challenges.
- A track record of not just creating marketing plans, but optimizing the process of marketing—specifically through the pilot or adoption of AI tools to increase team efficiency.
- Highly confident public speaker with the ability to serve as a primary product evangelist with executives, industry analysts, and large audiences at marquee events.

With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.
