Job Description:
A vacancy for “Cyber Security Architect” (d/f/m) has arisen within the Defence and Strategic
Programmes Cluster for Airbus Cybersecurity in Spain. We provide products, development, concepts,
and cybersecurity engineering to internal and external customers in Airbus. As a European specialist,
Airbus shields customers, agencies, and critical infrastructures from cyber threats.
We are looking for experienced Cyber / IT architects with proven experience in the design of complex
secure architectures for systems in the defence and aerospace domains. In the role of the Cyber
Security Architect, you will be responsible for the security engineering of requirements for safety-
critical aeronautical systems such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), aircraft and helicopters in the
Aeronautic and Defence sectors.
The main tasks include:
Security System Engineering for safety-critical aeronautical systems
Requirements-based and model-based system engineering
Carrying out risk analyses
Coordination of security measures with the system design across several engineering
disciplines
Integration of security measures into the aeronautical security development process
Development of aviation security system architectures
Development of aeronautical security measures for network and cloud architectures
Supporting the approval process of devices with security features by national and
international authorities
Creation of security concepts in the context of European defence projects
Participation in European cyber security research projects
Cooperation with partner companies
Active contribution to the development of the Cluster in Spain
Active contribution to identify and fulfil actions leading to the successful implementation of
the company strategy and R&T activities
Identification of technologies and market trends to strengthen our activities and our
leadership
Contribute to international coordination of R&D-R&T programs and roadmaps
Support Coordination platforms business development inside the group relevant with the
cluster
Establish and maintain trusted relationship with related as well as Airbus group customers
and contribute to provide them with a better understanding of our capabilities and
roadmaps
Contribute to cyber events promoting company skills and know-how
Support company activities in Spain especially in the field of defence and strategic
programmes close to entities such as Airbus Military Air Systems, Space Systems and
Commercial Aircraft
Collaborating with international partner companies
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

Degree or doctorate in electrical engineering, communications engineering, mathematics,
physics, computer science or similar.
Practical knowledge in software engineering
Experience with certification processes, e.g. with BSI, NATO and EASA
Knowledge of aerospace engineering, e.g. SAE ARP 4754 advantageous
Knowledge of aerospace security standards, e.g. EUROCAE 201 to 205 advantageous
Overview of NATO architecture framework (NAF V3 / V4) desirable
Experience with requirement management and design tools such as DOORS, Rhapsody,
Enterprise Architect desirable
Experience on the application security risk assessment methodologies and tools
Experience on national (NSA) and/or transnational (e.g. NATO, EU) accreditation and
certification of systems and tools
Experience as a technical manager is a plus
Knowledge about model-based system engineering
Knowledge about requirements engineering
Knowledge of system engineering processes like V-model or Agile approaches
Usage of cryptographic tools, application of cryptographic algorithms or public key
infrastructures are of advantage
Operational experience on military environments is a plus
Experience with UNIX-like systems, their architecture, their services and implementations is a
plus.
Knowledge of security frameworks like ISO:27000 series is a plus
Experience in handling classified data and documents is of advantage
Occasional travelling is required. Fluent language skill of English and Spanish is required
The candidate shall hold or be eligible for Spanish and International (OCCAR, NATO, EU)
security clearances
