Citi is seeking to fill a senior leadership role within its Payments business across Singapore and Southeast Asia, driving growth, innovation, and client impact at the intersection of one of the world's most dynamic payments landscapes. Sitting within Citi's Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS) business — a leading global provider of cash management and trade services operating across more than 100 countries — this role carries full end-to-end ownership of the Payments franchise across Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia. The successful candidate will shape strategy, lead high-performing teams, and build lasting client and market presence across a region of significant commercial priority for Citi.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Asia Payments business across Singapore and Southeast Asia with full ownership of the P&L, setting strategic direction and translating it into measurable revenue growth and wallet share gains.
- Define and execute the Payments product strategy in alignment with Citi's global priorities, identifying organic and inorganic growth opportunities and developing differentiated value propositions for the regional client base.
- Build and maintain senior client relationships across corporate treasury and financial institution segments, representing Citi at industry events and conferences to strengthen market visibility and thought leadership.
- Lead and develop a high-performing Payments team through direct and matrix management across product, sales, technology, and operations functions, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Spearhead the digitization of payment processes across the region, leveraging Citi's global infrastructure and identifying fintech partnerships to accelerate innovation and enhance client experience.
- Ensure a robust governance and control environment across the Payments business, maintaining compliance with all regulatory, audit, and product approval requirements.
- Partner actively with Sales, Banking, Coverage, Operations, and Technology stakeholders across the cluster and globally to align execution priorities, remove barriers, and deliver seamless outcomes for clients.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Relevant experience in financial services, payments, or transaction banking, including at least 10 years in senior leadership positions with direct people management responsibility.
- Demonstrated ability to own and grow a P&L business, with deep financial acumen and a track record of delivering revenue growth in complex, multi-market environments.
- Proven capability to develop and execute business strategy across multiple geographies, with experience navigating large, matrixed organizations and aligning cross-functional teams around shared objectives.
- Strong client leadership skills, with the ability to build and sustain senior-level relationships across corporate treasury clients, financial institutions, and external partners.
- Ability to lead through influence across a broad stakeholder landscape, including senior management, regional leadership teams, regulators, and global product partners.
- Sound judgment in risk and governance matters, with direct experience maintaining control frameworks and ensuring regulatory compliance within a product or business leadership context.
- Bachelor's or equivalent university degree is required.
Beneficial Skills & Qualifications
- Master's degree in business, finance, or a related field.
- Experience leading payments or cash management businesses specifically within the Southeast Asian market, with established knowledge of the regional regulatory and competitive landscape.
- Exposure to fintech ecosystems, digital payments infrastructure, or platform-based commercialization strategies.
- Experience evaluating and executing inorganic growth opportunities such as partnerships, acquisitions, or strategic alliances within a financial services context.
