Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Consultant Urologist to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive diagnostic, medical, and surgical care for patients with urological conditions. The role requires advanced clinical expertise, strong surgical skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care using evidence-based practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of urological conditions affecting adult patients.
- Perform advanced urological procedures and surgeries, including minimally invasive, endoscopic, laparoscopic, and open surgical techniques.
- Evaluate and treat conditions related to the urinary tract, kidneys, bladder, prostate, and male reproductive system.
- Manage complex urological cases, including urinary stones, prostate disorders, urological cancers, and reconstructive conditions.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide appropriate follow-up care.
- Perform diagnostic procedures and interpret relevant investigations, including imaging and laboratory results.
- Provide pre-operative consultations, surgical planning, post-operative management, and long-term patient care.
- Manage emergency urological cases when required.
- Collaborate with oncologists, nephrologists, radiologists, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient management.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, procedures, and expected outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and departmental meetings.
- Mentor junior doctors and contribute to medical education and professional development activities.
- Maintain the highest standards of patient safety, ethics, and clinical governance.
- Medical degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- Completion of recognized postgraduate training in Urology.
- Board Certification, Fellowship, or equivalent specialist qualification in Urology.
- Minimum of 5 years of post-specialty clinical experience as a Consultant Urologist.
- Proven expertise in diagnosing and managing a broad range of urological conditions.
- Strong experience in advanced urological surgical procedures.
- Experience in minimally invasive, laparoscopic, robotic, or endoscopic urological surgery is preferred.
- Experience managing urological oncology, stone disease, prostate conditions, and reconstructive urology is an advantage.
- Excellent clinical decision-making and surgical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
