Savory Prep Chef, Phoenix — Supporting Paradise Valley (Opening Fall 2026)

Pay Rate: $18.00/hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday

About the Role
Prep With Purpose. Feed Something Bigger.
We're hiring two Savory Prep Chefs based out of our Phoenix production warehouse to support our Paradise Valley location, opening Fall 2026. You'll prepare savory menu items — pizzas, salads, and similar offerings — that are produced in Phoenix and delivered to Paradise Valley daily. This is a production kitchen role where consistency, speed, and food safety are everything.
Responsibilities
Pre-Opening
- Complete onboarding and training prior to the Paradise Valley opening
- Learn Too Sweet Cakes' savory menu standards, recipes, and production specifications
- Assist with kitchen setup, workflow development, and production readiness for the launch
- Help establish prep procedures and quality benchmarks alongside the Savory Lead
Food Preparation & Production
- Prepare savory menu items to company recipe standards and quality specifications
- Produce at the volume and pace required to meet daily Paradise Valley delivery needs
- Maintain consistency in portioning, presentation, and preparation every day
- Follow all prep lists, production schedules, and daily priorities as directed
- Adapt to changes in volume, menu, or production priorities with flexibility
Quality & Food Safety
- Inspect ingredients and finished items for quality before they leave the Phoenix kitchen
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and temperature control procedures
- Label, package, and store all prepared items correctly for transport to Paradise Valley
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workspace throughout every shift
- Communicate ingredient quality concerns or production issues to the Savory Lead promptly
Operations & Coordination
- Work within the production schedule to ensure Paradise Valley delivery deadlines are consistently met
- Assist with receiving and organizing ingredient deliveries — verify against orders and flag discrepancies
- Restock prep supplies and communicate inventory needs proactively
- Support a clean and efficient handoff at shift end
- 1–3 years of professional kitchen, food prep, or culinary experience — savory items (pizzas, salads, etc.) preferred
- Comfortable in a production kitchen environment with volume and daily deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistency and quality
- Solid understanding of food safety and sanitation — ServSafe certification a plus
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well within a team
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Monday – Friday availability required; FT and PT schedules available
- Must be at least 18 years old
