About the Role
As Avoca's Event Manager, you will own the internal experiences that keep a fast-growing team connected and the customer and prospect hospitality that helps Sales build the relationships that move deals forward.
Reporting to the Event Marketing Manager and working closely with the wider events team, you'll plan and execute everything from team offsites and company celebrations to VIP dinners, sporting activations, and bespoke customer experiences. You'll also be the operational backbone across the events function, owning merchandise, travel logistics, and the vendor relationships that keep everything running.
This role is ideal for an events professional who thrives in high-accountability environments, loves owning both strategy and hands-on logistics, and knows how to build discipline and performance into a scaling events program.
What You'll Do
- Plan and execute company internal events end-to-end: team offsites, celebrations, culture events, and recurring internal programming.
- Own the coordination and execution of VIP customer and prospect hospitality experiences, including hosted dinners, sporting and entertainment events, and bespoke activations that deepen relationships and create memorable moments.
- Partner with the Sales team to ideate and deliver field hospitality that moves deals forward and strengthens existing customer relationships.
- Partner with the Talent team to plan and execute recruiting events that help Avoca win top candidates.
- Support the wider Events team at conferences: onsite logistics, booth setup, and day-of execution.
- Manage merchandise end-to-end: inventory, ordering, packing, and shipping across events and offices.
- Coordinate internal travel for the team across events, offsites, and conferences.
- Own vendor relationships across all event types: venues, catering, entertainment, AV, transportation, and gifting.
What You'll Bring
- 3+ years in event management, corporate events, or hospitality (startup or B2B SaaS preferred).
- Experience running both large-format events (100+ attendees) and intimate VIP experiences with equal confidence.
- Strong NYC vendor and venue relationships
- Comfortable working directly with Sales as a partner, not just a logistics coordinator.
- Budget management experience across a portfolio of events with varying size and complexity.
- Experience working with vendors and negotiating contracts.
Who You Are
- You think about the experience from the moment someone gets the invite to the moment they leave.
- You can run a 200-person company celebration and an intimate customer dinner in the same week without either one showing cracks.
- You build systems so nothing falls through the cracks, and you improve the playbook every time.
- In-office, hands-on, and energised by pace.
Benefits
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
- Company-sponsored 401(k) through Vestwell
- Flexible PTO plus U.S. federal holidays
- Company-wide off-sites
- Daily in-office lunch through Parkday
- Dinner covered when working late
- Commuter benefits and late-night rideshare
- Standing desks and workspace accommodations available on request
- All core tools and software provided
Compensation: The expected base salary for this role is $120,000–$165,000 with final compensation based on experience, skills, and qualifications determined during the interview process. Avoca's total compensation package includes base salary, bonus, equity, and a comprehensive suite of benefits and perks. Our Recruiting team will share the full details as you progress through our hiring process.
