Monumental is seeking an Electronics Engineer to join their hardware team in Amsterdam. You will support mechatronics and hardware/software teams in developing autonomous construction robots. Responsibilities include prototyping, testing, debugging electronics, and contributing to PCB design. The role requires hands-on engineering and collaboration to bring robotic systems to life and automate construction.
Monumental is automating on-site construction with robotics and software. Our mission is to make construction software-defined and autonomous - a future where beautiful, bespoke buildings go up in a single day, with minimal labour.
We're a growing team of engineers, operators and technicians from companies like Palantir, Qualcomm, Dyson, Shopify, Tesla, Meta and Google DeepMind. It's still the early days of building the company, and this is a chance to make an outsized impact on a problem that matters. We build the whole stack in-house - hardware and software. From day one, you'll work with an experienced founding team, backed by a $32M Series B led by Khosla Ventures and Plural.
Monumental is based in the city centre of Amsterdam, in a beautiful facility with an fully equipped workshop and robot testing floor. We're explicitly not a hybrid or remote-first company - you can't build robots or walls from home, so we're onsite five days a week.

About the role:
We’re looking for an Electronics Engineer to join our hardware team. You’ll support our mechatronics engineers and collaborate closely with both hardware and software teams as we develop the next generation of autonomous construction robots.
In this role, you’ll contribute directly to prototyping, testing, and refining the electronics that power our robotic systems. From autonomous vehicles and cranes, to tools and sensors, you’ll work across motor control, power, sensing, and communications.
You’ll be involved in hands-on engineering tasks such as building test circuits, validating sensor integrations, supporting field tests, and debugging hardware issues. You’ll also help improve and maintain our growing fleet, learning from failures and iterating quickly on both designs and processes.
Help us bring our robots to life and join our mission to bring automation to the construction industry to create affordable, beautiful, high-quality housing for everyone.
