What You Would Get To Do

The Senior Digital Event Technician is a specialised technical leadership role responsible for the end-to-end oversight and execution of complex virtual and hybrid event productions. Representing the FIRST brand as an implanted team member for a well-known technology company, this individual provides deep expertise in streaming software, broadcast pipelines, and digital delivery workflows. The role requires senior-level technical leadership to manage the full event lifecycle—from intake through execution—while ensuring global service standards and regional quality assurance.

Your Contributions

  • Provide end-to-end technical ownership of the event lifecycle, including intake, assignment, planning, execution, and post-event delivery to ensure high-quality results.
  • Support consistency across regions with other Digital Technicians by providing technical direction, performing quality checks, and maintaining global consistency in service standards.
  • Drive the creation and implementation of standardised processes, templates, reporting, and documentation to ensure operational efficiency across the global account.
  • Act as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for specific client needs and digital event production, maintaining global alignment and advising on attendee experiences.
  • Lead the technical execution of mid-to-complex hybrid and virtual events, utilising software-based production platforms such as Streamyard, Wirecast, or VMix and core AV hardware.
  • Provide advanced video editing services, including the production of show segments and on-demand playback content that requires detailed internal editing beyond basic top-and-tailing.
  • Demonstrate expert ability to troubleshoot complex digital delivery workflows, audio/video signal flows, and broadcast pipeline failures under high-pressure live environments.
  • Lead contributor briefings and translate complex digital broadcast standards and virtual workflows for non-technical clients and stakeholders.
  • Ensure all digital platforms, streaming equipment, and assigned production studios are clean, operational, and ready for business daily.
  • Coordinate with engineering resources to ensure broadcast systems and AV hardware are properly maintained, optimised, and regularly checked for performance.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians on workflow design, digital platform operation, and pre-production best practices.
  • Collaborate with show callers, technical directors, and external agencies to organise switcher layouts and ensure the flawless execution of technical cues.
  • Identify and implement new digital production trends and alternative delivery methods by collecting feedback and identifying industry shifts.
  • Ensure the team adheres to standard operating procedures and that all external agencies comply with company rules and facility regulations.
  • Maintain the integrity of digital assets, streaming spec documentation, and encoding protocols to ensure reliable future delivery.
  • Flex into operating other event production areas as skills and training allow, to support the wider team in hands-on delivery

  • High level of proficiency in the technical delivery of high-quality digital and hybrid event production systems.
  • Extensive live video switching and audio mixing experience with a strong technical understanding of signal flow and processing systems.
