Position Overview:
Finning Canada is seeking Field experienced Journeypersons Heavy Duty Mechanics to join our industry leading team supporting our customers located at Skeena and Tahltan Nation Development Corporation (TNDC) on a 14 x 14 Continuous Shift rotation. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, repair and rebuilds on a variety of CAT equipment such as Rock Trucks, D9 and D10 dozers, 395 Excavators, Graders.

• $55.28 - $61.42 (base rate + regional wage allowance, probationary to full rate)
o $2.55 Remote Mine Premium
o $3.25 Night Shift Premium

Job Description:
As a Heavy Duty Mechanic with Skeena/TNDC, you’ll troubleshoot and repair a variety of Caterpillar mining equipment such as Rock Trucks, D9 and D10 dozers, 395 Excavators & Graders; leveraging your technical expertise to build trust, solve challenges, and keep our customers equipment moving.
Your work will include:
- Field diagnosis and running repairs of Caterpillar equipment in an active mine environment
- Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily
- Large‑scale overhauls and rebuilds
- Component replacements
- Complete technical documentation and maintaining clear customer communication
- Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team
Specific Skills & Experience
- Interprovincial Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification
- Valid driver’s license with a successful recent drivers abstract
- 10+ Years Off Road Mechanical Experience Recommended
- Previous repair experience on the Caterpillar mining and general line product lines 793 Haul Trucks, 6015, 6040 and 6060 Shovels, D9 and D10 dozers, 395 Excavators, and 18 Graders

- This role supports our Northwest BC Mining customers (Skeena and Tahltan Nation Development Corporation) on a 14x14 Shift
- A condition of employment is the ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, fitness testing) and wear a respirator where applicable
