Government and Public Affairs work at the LEGO Group is focused on influencing government policy and legislative direction to improve the regulatory and operating environment for the LEGO Group globally.  

You will help influence government policy towards creative learning through play, engage in opportunistic dialogue with governments across the region, raise awareness on the LEGO Group’s intellectual property rights with governments and collaboratively work with policy partners to preserve our license to operate across the diverse APAC region.   

No relocation assistance is offered for this position.

Core Responsibilities: 

  • Build and maintain relationships with governments, trade associations, industry coalitions, public services, and other authorities to influence policies and positions
  • Influence government policy/legislative direction and public opinion
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on government policy and legislation (e.g., identifying emerging policy/regulatory trends, developing issues and position papers for presentation to business leadership, etc.)
  • Educate business leaders about the potential opportunities or consequences of evolving legislation
  • Develop and implement government relations initiatives, leveraging platforms to build the reputation profile of the LEGO Group and drive impact
  • Bring awareness to and challenge IP rights violations, influencing policy partners to help protect the brand
  • Execute a public affairs program though advocacy, platform activation and expanded stakeholder engagement

 
Play Your Part in our team succeeding! 

As part of the Global Government and Public Affairs team, you will be an influential member of the APAC team. A self-starter you will work in collaboration with regional and global peers to inform executive leadership and policy partners (e.g. governments, education institutes, law enforcement) to craft opportunistic dialogue and raise awareness of IP rights, whilst at the same time elevate the importance of our creative learning initiatives. 

Do you have what it takes? 

  • 6+ years of work experience in Government Relations and/or Public Affairs roles, either in public office or in-house corporate experience
  • Prior experience of advocacy with governments, parliamentarians, influencing policy and achieving win-win results
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and proactive, independent approach to work
  • An ability to anticipate developing policy trends or regulatory changes, understand their business impact and respond accordingly to enhance brand partnerships
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including being comfortable presenting to senior executives.
  • Excellent collaboration and negotiation skills
