Job's mission
As a Senior Principal Engineer, Global Product Management at ASM, you will play a critical role in shaping the product strategy, market positioning, and business success of ASM’s semiconductor deposition product portfolio. Working closely with customers, Product Development, Sales, and Business Unit leadership, you will translate market insights into product roadmaps, define strategic priorities, and drive successful product introductions across global markets.
This role combines deep semiconductor technical expertise with business acumen to ensure ASM continues to deliver innovative solutions that meet evolving customer and market needs. You will serve as a key interface between customers, engineering teams, and executive leadership while influencing long-term product and market strategy.
What you will be working on

Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, industry partners, and technology stakeholders to understand emerging market requirements and technology trends.

Lead technical and business discussions with customers to gather product feedback, identify growth opportunities, and support business development activities.

Conduct detailed market analysis, customer segmentation, competitive benchmarking, and technology trend assessments to support strategic decision-making.

Develop, maintain, and communicate product roadmaps aligned with customer requirements, market opportunities, and ASM business objectives.

Prioritize product investments and development activities based on market demand, competitive positioning, and business impact.

Own and maintain Market Requirement Specifications (MRS) to ensure product development priorities align with customer needs and business strategy.

Collaborate with Product Development, Sales, Applications, and Business Unit teams to define product requirements and support roadmap execution.

Support business planning activities including forecasting, budgeting, operational reviews, market assessments, and long-term growth planning.

Develop business cases and financial analyses including Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), Net Present Value (NPV), and Internal Rate of Return (IRR) evaluations for new product initiatives.

Lead new product introduction and commercialization activities, including market validation, business planning, product positioning, and launch execution.

Partner with engineering teams to translate customer requirements into actionable product specifications and development priorities.

Develop customer-facing presentations, technical marketing content, product launch materials, conference collateral, and sales enablement resources.

Deliver product and technical training to internal stakeholders, including sales, field, and customer support organizations.

Support customer demonstrations, technology evaluations, industry conferences, and strategic marketing initiatives.

Provide market intelligence, competitive insights, and strategic recommendations to senior management and executive leadership.

Develop go-to-market strategies and product portfolio recommendations for future technology generations and growth opportunities.

Influence long-term product and technology investment decisions through market analysis, customer engagement, and business justification.
What we are looking for

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, Semiconductor Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Minimum 12+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry, semiconductor equipment sector, or closely related high-technology industries.

Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes, capital equipment platforms, and semiconductor device technologies.

Proven experience in product management, technical marketing, business development, or strategic market-facing roles.

Experience engaging directly with customers, strategic partners, and cross-functional global teams.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate market insights into product and business strategies.

Demonstrated ability to influence decision-making across engineering, commercial, and executive organizations.

Excellent communication and presentation skills for both technical and executive audiences.

Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.

Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in a semiconductor-related technical field.

Deep expertise in deposition technologies, including ALD, PECVD, Epitaxy, or adjacent semiconductor process technologies.

Experience managing global semiconductor product portfolios across multiple markets and applications.

Proven track record of successfully launching new semiconductor products from concept through commercialization.

Strong knowledge of semiconductor market dynamics, customer technology roadmaps, and competitive landscapes.

Ability to operate effectively in a highly matrixed, global environment while balancing technical and commercial priorities.

Working proficiency in Korean or Japanese is advantageous.
