Job Purpose
The eContent and Experience Developer is responsible for driving sustainable e-commerce growth by delivering best-in-class digital content, shopper experience, and online activation strategies across South Africa's e-retail landscape. The role leads the development and execution of content and media initiatives that enhance brand visibility, optimize conversion, and maximize return on investment, while ensuring excellence in digital shelf execution. Through effective stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration, the incumbent supports the achievement of commercial objectives and the long-term strategic growth of Pernod Ricard's e-commerce channel.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
E-Commerce Experiences & Campaign Execution
- Lead the development, implementation, and optimization of e-commerce campaigns across South Africa's key e-retail partners to accelerate channel growth and enhance the online shopper experience.
- Develop disruptive, insight-led activation plans using retailer data, shopper insights, and performance metrics to drive engagement, conversion, and profitability.
- Manage end-to-end execution of brand campaigns, ensuring delivery against agreed objectives, timelines, budgets, and KPIs.
- Conduct post-campaign analysis and reporting, capturing actionable insights, performance learnings, and raw data for integration into Pernod Ricard's marketing effectiveness tools.
- Support the delivery of value share growth within the Premium+ spirits category through best-in-class campaign execution across strategic retail partners.
- Monitor campaign effectiveness and continuously identify opportunities to improve return on ad spend (ROAS), conversion rates, and customer engagement.
Digital Content & Online Shelf Excellence
- Develop and maintain best-in-class product content across all e-retail platforms to maximize discoverability, search ranking, and conversion.
- Create and optimize hero images, product titles, product descriptions, and enhanced content in line with SEO best practices and retailer requirements.
- Regularly review and refresh existing content to maintain relevance, improve performance, and ensure competitive advantage across digital shelves.
- Collaborate with agency partners and internal stakeholders to implement content enhancements and digital shelf optimization initiatives.
- Ensure all product pages consistently reflect brand guidelines, category best practices, and shopper needs.
Content Management Systems & Digital Tools
- Manage and maintain product information across Pernod Ricard's Product Information Management (PIM) systems and third-party content platforms.
- Ensure content accuracy, completeness, and consistency across all digital touchpoints.
- Utilize digital shelf analytics and reporting tools to monitor performance, identify opportunities, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Drive continuous improvement in the use of content management and digital shelf tools to enhance operational efficiency and business performance.
Stakeholder & Partner Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with retail partners to secure optimal media opportunities, visibility, and activation support for Pernod Ricard brands.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Sales, Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, and external agencies to deliver shared business objectives.
- Act as a key point of contact for e-commerce content and activation initiatives, ensuring alignment between commercial priorities and execution plans.
- Influence stakeholders through data, insights, and category expertise to support e-commerce growth ambitions.
Budget Management & Commercial Governance
- Manage the e-commerce activation budget, ensuring accurate planning, forecasting, phasing, and expenditure throughout the financial year.
- Track investment performance and recommend adjustments to optimize spend allocation and improve returns.
- Work closely with Finance and relevant support functions to align budgets with business priorities and key trading periods.
- Ensure all expenditure complies with internal governance processes, financial controls, and procurement requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience in a cutting-edge agency, in a leading digital player; or a similar role in FMCG, Luxury or retail industry
- Experience in developing digital programs and activations (from design and development through execution and measurement)
- Experience with measuring and assessing business impact of digital activations and programs: analytics, targeting, segmentation, consumer and business insights
- Experience in animating/coordinating remote international teams
- Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience
- Bachelor’s degree required
- High knowledge of digital media, trends and data-driven initiatives
- Knowledge and understanding of the FMCG industry.
