- Lead sourcing, tendering, quotation evaluation, negotiation, supplier selection, award recommendation, and purchase order governance in line with procurement policies and approval requirements.
- Maintain procurement governance, procedures, templates, controls, and documentation to support compliance, transparency, audit readiness, and timely procurement execution.
- Manage supplier onboarding, accreditation, contract coordination, performance monitoring, issue escalation, and supplier relationship management.
- Coordinate with business units and control functions, including Legal, Compliance, Risk, Finance, and Information Security, to support third-party risk management, due diligence, contract readiness, and exception handling.
- Collaborate with Global Procurement teams to implement broader procurement initiatives and process improvements
- Manage, coach, and develop the Procurement team through workload planning, capability building, performance monitoring, and change adoption.
Preferred skills
- Strong procurement professional with expertise in strategic sourcing, tender management, supplier selection, negotiation, and IT equipment sourcing, supported by solid knowledge of procurement governance, approval authority, segregation of duties, ethical practices, conflict of interest controls, third-party risk management, due diligence, and audit documentation standards.
- Skilled in evaluating commercial proposals, analyzing pricing, assessing supplier capability, preparing clear recommendation papers, and presenting procurement decisions to management and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Demonstrates strong leadership, analytical thinking, negotiation, and proficiency in SAP S2P, Ariba, or other procurement ERP systems.
Qualifications
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Industrial Engineering, Law, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, vendor management, or related control functions, preferably within financial services or insurance
- Having experience in implementation of Procurement ERP system, e.q. SAP or any other ERP
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Procurement function to ensure that sourcing, supplier selection, purchase order processing, supplier governance, and procurement operations are performed in accordance with Sun Life policies, delegated authorities, ethical standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- The role is responsible for driving value through competitive sourcing, cost optimization, process discipline, supplier relationship management, third-party risk coordination, and effective team leadership to support business needs while maintaining fairness, transparency, and audit readiness.
