Job Objectives

Assist the Manager to develop, implement, manage and continually improve an independent safety and quality system with its administration to ensure that the activities carried out can be monitored for compliance with the relevant CAAs, ISO9001. AS9110 & AS9120 requirements and relevant procedures and instructions that are called out by company procedures. Support external and internal queries regarding the Safety and Quality Management System.

Job Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary focal point for the Safety & Quality Management System and Training Management.
  • Manage and continually improve the Safety Management System from Present, Suitable to Operating and Effective level
  • Establish and maintain a training program for the maintenance organisation and Quality, not limited to the policies and procedures to determine the trainer, training and competence assessment.
  • Manage the safety reporting scheme and the occurrence reporting system, including initiation and follow-up of internal occurrence investigation.
  • Perform or facilitate hazard identification and safety risk analysis
  • Monitor the effectiveness of the safety risk control and corrective actions and evaluating their results
  • Provide periodic reports on safety performance
  • Plan, facilitate and/or provide Safety and Quality related training
  • Maintain training and aviation safety-related records and documentation
  • Monitor safety concerns in the aviation industry and their perceived impact on repair shop operations
  • Establish and Coordination of aviation safety emergency response plan
  • Establish and maintain a safety data collection and processing system (SDCPS) and related processes to capture, store, aggregate and enable the analysis of safety data and safety information to support its safety performance management activities.
  • Develop safety intelligence through systematic analysis to identify trends, patterns and emerging safety issues that support the safety objectives and enable data-driven decision making
  • Create an inspiring team environment, with an open communication culture
  • Manage supplier discrepancies and customers’ claims
  • Issue certificate of conformity and/or Authorised Release Certificates, where applicable
  • Perform new capability study and assessment
  • Lead/Participate in practical problem solving
  • Any other tasks any assigned by the Manager
  • Other duties reasonably determined from time to time by the Company

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Work in backup capacity within the team by arrangement with the Manager
  • Provide support and guidance to the the organisation on quality related process
  • Report any deterioration in Safety and/or Quality performance and recommend mitigation actions
  • Promote safety and quality awareness throughout the organization
  • Assist the Manager to manage a system to monitor, investigate and evaluate customer's complaints and warranties issues in the operations
  • Assist in the development of new processes together with the appropriate departments

Job Requirements

  • Minimum Degree in Engineering, such as Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electronic  or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 2 years of aviation production/maintenance experience with at least 1 year in safety and quality assurance function is preferred
  • Technically knowledgeable and capable of grasping detailed engineering and quality concepts
  • Ability to understand and read blueprints, schematics & Component Maintenance Manuals
  • Be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing and ability to read and understand the applicable procedural documentation and regulation
  • A good presenter and effective trainer
  • Knowledge and understanding of airworthiness authorities’ regulatory requirements and AS9100 series standard requirements is an added advantage
  • Ability to analyze inspection findings, and determine best case analysis advantage
  • PC literacy, including google word, spreadsheets & slides
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Good team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to multi-task effectively
  • Strong analytical/Critical thinking/Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and a high level of integrity and passionate in problem solving and drive for results
  • Effective time management
