Atomic Semi is seeking a Security and IT Operations Manager to build the operational foundation for scaling the company across multiple locations. This role involves establishing critical IT and security groundwork, including policies, guidebooks, and physical IT infrastructure. The manager will own end-to-end change management, design and implement scalable processes for access and SaaS governance, develop operational security policies, lead compliance readiness, and manage the employee device and access lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have 3-7+ years of experience in IT/security operations, a strong understanding of identity and access management, and familiarity with export control and government compliance frameworks.
About Atomic Semi
Atomic Semi is building a small, fast semiconductor fab.
It’s already possible to build this with today’s technology and a few simplifications. We’ll build the tools ourselves so we can quickly iterate and improve.
We’re building a small team of exceptional, hands-on engineers to make this happen. Mechanical, electrical, hardware, computer, and process. We’ll own the stack from atoms to architecture. Our team is optimistic about the future and we want to continue pushing the limits of technology.
Smaller is better. Faster is better. Building it ourselves is better.
We believe our team and lab can build anything. We’ve set up 3D printers, a wide array of microscopes, e-beam writers, general fabrication equipment - and whatever is missing, we’ll just invent along the way.
Atomic was founded by Sam Zeloof and Jim Keller. Sam is best known for making chips in his garage, and Jim has been a leader in the semiconductor industry for the past 40 years.
About the team
This role sits on the Business Operations team, which is responsible for building the operational foundation that lets Atomic scale. We believe our internal systems should be as thoughtful and ambitious as the products we build. As we expand across multiple locations, we need to lay down critical IT and security groundwork. You will be the first person dedicated to this effort - setting up the policies, guidebooks, and physical IT infrastructure that will secure our future and set the company up for long-term success.
About the role
As a Security & IT Operations Analyst, you will help build the security, IT, and governance foundations that support our fast-moving engineering organization as we scale across new offices, growing teams, and increasingly complex systems. Sitting at the intersection of security operations, systems governance, and IT operations, you will take broad ownership of how Atomic Semi manages access, devices, operational risk, and sensitive information.
We’re looking for someone who can operate as both a strategic security lead and a hands-on builder, shaping the systems, policies, and operational rigor that will support Atomic through its next stage of growth. You will know you are successful when you have built a scalable, highly secure IT foundation from scratch that protects our sensitive data without slowing down our engineering teams.
