Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Rental Sales Representative to drive rental business growth across Southern Alberta and Saskatchewan. In this outside sales role, you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, managing existing customer accounts, and providing rental solutions that meet the needs of commercial, industrial, construction, and entertainment customers.
You will be responsible for promoting and selling rental equipment and services, including power generation, electrical distribution, instrumentation, contractor tooling, compressed air, and temperature control solutions. Working within an assigned territory, you will build strong customer relationships, identify opportunities, and deliver exceptional service to support both customer success and business growth.
The ideal candidate is a proactive sales professional with strong relationship-building skills, a customer-focused mindset, and a passion for driving revenue growth in a competitive rental market.
Job Description:
- Develop and maintain long-term strategic customer relationships by providing timely, accurate, and value-driven rental equipment solutions.
- Prepare and manage sales documentation, quotations, contracts, and customer agreements accurately and in a timely manner.
- Prepare competitive quotations and negotiate rental agreements to secure new business and maximize revenue opportunities.
- Collaborate effectively with operations, service, parts, and other cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional customer support and operational excellence.
- Maintain a commitment to continuous learning and professional development to enhance sales effectiveness and product knowledge.
Experience & Qualifications
- 3–5 years of outside sales or business development experience, preferably in power generation, equipment rental, industrial services, or a related industry.
- Strong customer service, account management, and business development skills with an understanding of rental market strategies and territory planning.
- Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, with the ability to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Knowledge of Caterpillar power generation equipment and related applications is considered an asset.
- Understanding of construction and industrial project lifecycles, enabling effective customer engagement and rental solution recommendations at the appropriate project stages.
- Ability to conduct equipment demonstrations and communicate product features, benefits, and applications to customers.
- Proven ability to prospect, generate leads, and develop new business opportunities.
- Experience managing a sales territory and achieving revenue growth targets.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
