Danfoss is seeking a Quality Engineer for their Ames, Iowa facility. This role involves managing customer production line reject claims, liaising with various departments to resolve quality concerns, and preparing quality assurance control plans. The engineer will use Six Sigma methodology for process improvements, conduct statistical analyses, interpret engineering drawings and GD&T, and lead 8D problem-solving with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities include documenting quality issues, performing audits, and participating in pre-manufacturing reviews with suppliers. The position requires 3 years of experience as a quality engineer in manufacturing, familiarity with PPAP, quality tools, ISO certifications, and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification. Fluency in written and spoken Spanish is also required.

Manage and process customer production line reject claims to drive improvements in assembly processes to achieve customer satisfaction; provide liaison with other areas such as engineering, process engineering, manufacturing, marketing, and customer representatives in the resolution of quality concerns; prepare and implement quality assurance control plans associated with manufacturing requirements before, during and after PPAP; assure that specific controls are established and properly integrated with the applicable development and production phases of the project to achieve customer satisfactions; act as next level of escalation after the quality technician for quality-related concerns; document quality issues in various quality systems to prevent future issues; use Six Sigma methodology to reduce process variations; perform a wide variety of duties to ensure quality and reliability of parts produced in the assigned assembly lines; conduct MSA Studies, capability analysis, correlation analysis, design of experiments, process control; develop control plans, read engineering drawings, interpret GD&T, and utilize statistical techniques to provide insight, prove out process, or correct quality problems; lead 8D with cross-functional teams; work with quality technicians, process engineers, and other staff to implement quality enhancements to products and processes; analyze customer complaints, returned product, and rejects in the assembly processes to determine and implement solution to prevent recurrence; lead Quality Audits and help improve the process; review specifications and/or engineering drawings in order to establish design and quality goals; review and evaluate process or engineering changes for impact on quality objectives; participate in Pre-Manufacturing Reviews (PMRs) with procurement and suppliers to ensure project success.
