St Boniface Hospital has a wide range of specialties, including cardiac sciences, emergency medicine, gastrointestinal disease, neurosciences, oncology, palliative care, perinatal care, geriatric medicine, family medicine, ACF Women's Clinic, Renal/Dialysis Clinic to name just a few. Consequently, Munroe Pharmacy has extensive experience supporting patients being discharged from a wide range of specialized hospital programs and services. Our team works collaboratively with hospital ward pharmacists, nurses, clinical assistants, and physicians to ensure a seamless transition from hospital to home.
Successful candidates will play an integral role in preparing discharge medications, providing medication counselling, ensuring prescriptions are packaged appropriately to meet each patient’s individual needs. Munroe Pharmacy at St. Boniface Hospital is seeking both Full-Time and/or Part-time pharmacist applicants. The pharmacist position has potential for growth within the organization and move into a management role.
Responsibilities:
Your clinical community pharmacist duties will include but are not limited to:
Working collaboratively with patients’ physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure positive drug therapy outcomes
Conducting health screening clinics
Engaging in community outreach programs
Conducting immunization clinics
Performing medication reviews and medication management services as per the provincial standards
Applying full scope of practice as a clinical pharmacist in Manitoba
Patient counseling on selection and use of non-prescription medication
Ensuring accurate pharmacotherapy
Advising patients and health care professionals on the indications, contra-indications, adverse effects, drug interactions and dosage of medications
Ensuring proper preparation, packaging, and distribution of medications
Requirements:
Licensed and in good standing with College of Pharmacist of Manitoba
Strong sense of professionalism
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
Strong problem solving skills
Superior patient and physician relation skills
Injection Certification
Excellent leadership and performance management skills an asset
Additional accreditation such as a CDE or a Geriatric Pharmacist an asset
Working experience with Kroll Pharmacy dispensing software an asset
