CitiPower, Powercor, and United Energy are seeking an experienced engineering professional for a full-time, permanent Distributed Energy Resources (DER) Optimisation Engineer role based in Melbourne. The successful candidate will support the integration and effective operation of DER technologies across their networks, collaborating with IT, OEMs, and industry partners. Responsibilities include testing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and analyzing DER and DSO system performance, as well as contributing to the development of new capabilities like flexible exports and battery orchestration. About the Role:
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineering professional to join our Distributed Energy Resources (DER) Optimisation Engineering team in a full time and permanent role based at our Melbourne CBD Head Office.
This role will be responsible for supporting the operational delivery and continuous improvement of our Distribution System Operator (DSO) capabilities. You will work closely with Network Control, IT teams, OEMs, installers and industry partners to ensure DER technologies are successfully integrated and operating effectively across our networks.
You will also support system security activities, provide technical troubleshooting expertise, develop operational insights through data analysis, and contribute to the implementation of emerging capabilities such as flexible exports, Dynamic Operating Envelopes (DOEs), battery orchestration and demand flexibility services.
