About the Role
Visa is seeking a Senior Director, Chief of Staff to support the Global Head of Cross-Border, one of Visa’s highest-priority and fastest-growing businesses. Cross-Border payments is at the center of global commerce and plays a critical role in Visa’s future growth.
This is a high-impact role working directly with the Global Head of Cross-Border as a trusted thought partner. You will help define priorities, strengthen how the business operates, and drive execution at scale. The role combines strategy, execution, and leadership influence, with meaningful impact on a global business.
The Cross-Border business has a strong foundation in place and is entering its next phase of growth. Over the next 12 months, the operating model, rhythm of business, and cross-functional ways of working will continue to evolve. This role is well suited for someone who can build on what exists, connect and mature systems, and bring greater clarity, consistency, and execution discipline across a complex, global organization.
Key Responsibilities
Business Rhythm & Operating Model
- Own the end-to-end rhythm of the business, spanning annual planning, quarterly reviews, and monthly and weekly leadership forums
- Ensure forums across global and regional teams are connected and reinforce a consistent set of priorities, messages, and outcomes
- Set agendas, shape content, and drive follow-through so forums lead to clear decisions and actions
- Continuously refine and mature the operating system to improve clarity, alignment, and execution discipline
- Ensure priorities, decisions, and updates cascade clearly across the organization
OKRs, Prioritization & Performance Management
- Own end-to-end development of OKRs, aligning global and regional teams on the most important business priorities
- Translate strategy into clear, measurable goals with defined ownership, milestones, and success metrics
- Drive ongoing tracking and recalibration of priorities, surfacing risks, dependencies, and trade-offs
- Enable leadership to make informed prioritization decisions across competing demands
- Establish a consistent, transparent view of performance tied to strategic outcomes
Executive & Strategic Communications
- Lead development of executive presentations for the Global Head of Cross-Border, including materials for senior leadership forums, business reviews, and external engagements
- Draft high-impact communications for senior leadership, including executive emails, leadership updates, and critical business messages
- Ensure communications are clear, concise, and tailored to executive audiences
- Help shape and reinforce the Cross-Border narrative across key internal and external forums
Cross-Functional Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Partner closely with senior leaders across global and regional teams to drive alignment and execution
- Build strong relationships across regional leadership, marketing, product, sales, strategy, and other key cross-functional partners
- Act as a central connector across the organization, driving coordination in a highly matrixed environment
- Ramp quickly on complex topics, maintaining a broad view of priorities while going deep where needed
Planning, Budget & Business Operations
- Partner with Finance and People teams to lead annual and in-year planning processes
- Oversee budget planning and tracking, including headcount, investments, and key trade-offs
- Ensure the business is operating against plan and proactively identify gaps, risks, and course corrections
- Align strategy, resourcing, and execution so priorities are realistically planned, funded, and delivered
Strategic Projects & Thought Partnership
- Act as a trusted advisor to the Global Head of Cross-Border on business priorities, organizational strategy, and key decisions
- Lead or support high-impact, cross-functional initiatives
- Identify opportunities to improve how the organization operates, communicates, and executes
Team Leadership & Culture
- Provide oversight to a small support structure, including one direct report focused partially on business operations
- Reinforce strong ways of working, team culture, and communication across the organization

- The business operates with clear priorities, strong alignment, and execution discipline
- OKRs are actively managed and used to guide decisions and trade-offs
- The rhythm of business is connected across annual, quarterly, monthly, and weekly forums
- Leadership teams are aligned across global and regional levels
- Executive communications and presentations are sharp, clear, and effective
- The business is operating against plan with strong visibility into performance, budget, risks, and resourcing

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications
- 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience
- 12+ years of experience, ideally combining strategy or management consulting with in-house operating roles
- Proven ability to act as a thought partner to senior executives
- Strong strategic background, with the ability to structure complex problems and translate them into action
- Demonstrated operating experience, including driving priorities, business rhythms, planning, and cross-functional execution
- Exceptional communication skills for executive audiences, including developing senior presentations and drafting high-stakes communications
- Experience driving outcomes across cross-functional, global teams
- Ability to operate at multiple levels, connecting big-picture priorities with detailed execution
- Strong judgment, maturity, and executive presence

The estimated salary range for this position is $200,000.00 to $ 320,000.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
