The US Specialty Financial Institutions team is responsible for cultivating and managing our cobrand partnerships. We collaborate across a constellation of businesses across the fintech ecosystem – from issuers to merchants to processors to startups – to solve real-world challenges and create incremental value.
We seek an Account Manager to not only lead day-to-day management and strategic growth of one of Mastercard’s largest and most complex global financial institution partnerships, including cobranded portfolios with leading consumer brands, but also a collection of leading retail brands. With a focus on cobranded financial products, this individual will provide consultative support to executive leadership at our customers while achieving business development objectives.
Role
In this high-profile, customer facing position, you will:
• Own and lead Mastercard’s relationship with assigned accounts, serving as a trusted advisor to senior client leadership on portfolio growth, economics, and long-term strategy
• Identify, shape, and execute strategic initiatives that drive measurable growth in spend, acquisition, and engagement across cobranded portfolios
• Maintain an up-to-date expert-level knowledge on both Mastercard’s and your customers’ businesses and industries.
• Translate payment and customer data into actionable insights that inform client decision-making and unlock growth opportunities
• Build relationships and trust throughout both Mastercard and customer organizations
• Lead or play a central role in commercial negotiations, aligning internal stakeholders and client priorities to deliver strong, sustainable outcomes
• Coordinate cross-functional Mastercard teams (product, marketing, analytics, loyalty) to deliver integrated solutions for the client
All About You
Candidates who match the following will likely succeed in the role:
• Experience in financial technology and / or management consulting
• Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously in high-stakes, ambiguous environments
• Strong emotional intelligence; comfortable speaking publicly as well as building meaningful relationships at both senior and junior levels
• Capable of understanding, distilling and working through complex business and technical challenges
• Proven track record of influencing senior stakeholders and driving complex initiatives to execution
• Confident in extracting insights across quantitative and qualitative data sources
• Experience with cobranded card programs, loyalty ecosystems, or large-scale FI partnerships preferred
• Willingness to travel up to 30%
