Job Title: Sr. Director, Pricing Transformation and AI Enablement
Position Summary
The Sr. Director, Pricing Transformation and AI Enablement leads the strategic modeling and enterprise transformation of pricing across McKesson, leveraging advanced analytics, data, and AI capabilities. This role partners closely with the Chief Data and AI Officer to translate complex commercial and operational pricing challenges into measurable, data-driven decisions that drive margin and business performance.
Serving as a senior bridge between Pricing, Sourcing, Distribution, and technical AI/data teams—as well as governance partners including Legal, Privacy, and Cybersecurity—this role ensures pricing initiatives are commercially impactful, compliant, and aligned with enterprise priorities.
This role operates initially as an individual contributor, delivering results through matrixed data science, engineering, and analytics teams, with the expectation to evolve into a leadership role building enterprise pricing analytics capabilities as McKesson’s AI transformation matures.
Key Responsibilities
Pricing Strategy and Modeling
- Partner with Pricing, Sourcing, and Finance leadership to prioritize and scope high-value pricing opportunities, including large deals, discount optimization, and revenue management at scale
- Lead the design of AI- and analytics-driven pricing models across the full margin lifecycle (acquisition cost, resale pricing, and distribution economics)
- Identify opportunities where advanced modeling and data insights can drive incremental margin performance
- Define, track, and communicate financial outcomes of pricing initiatives, ensuring clear and attributable ROI
AI Enablement and Use Case Development
- Identify and prioritize AI and GenAI use cases across the pricing value chain
- Translate business challenges into well-defined analytical opportunities, balancing competing objectives and securing stakeholder alignment
- Serve as a senior cross-functional liaison to ensure pricing initiatives meet compliance and ethical standards in partnership with Legal, Privacy, and Cybersecurity
- Advise business leaders on value, feasibility, and risk trade-offs to enable adoption of data- and AI-driven pricing strategies
Enterprise Influence and Alignment
- Drive alignment across business, technical, and governance stakeholders to enable scalable pricing transformation
- Influence senior leaders and stakeholders to adopt new data-driven decision frameworks
- Deliver through matrixed teams without direct authority, ensuring execution across multiple functions
Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)
- 15+ years of experience translating complex commercial problems—particularly in pricing and revenue management, into analytics or AI-driven solutions at enterprise scale
- Prior experience in pricing within a large, complex enterprise environment
- Advanced degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Operations Research, Statistics, Economics, Applied Mathematics)
- Deep expertise in quantitative modeling techniques, including machine learning (classification, regression, clustering, neural networks), optimization, and simulation
- Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver results through influence in a highly matrixed environment
- Strong track record of tying business initiatives to measurable financial outcomes, including incremental margin and quantified ROI
- Ability to translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for both technical and executive audiences
- Experience shaping AI strategy and governance, with ability to operate as a trusted advisor to senior leadership
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with enterprise-scale data and AI platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake)
- Working knowledge of Python or SQL to effectively engage with technical teams
- Experience in pharmaceutical distribution, healthcare, or other regulated, high-volume industries
- Exposure to GenAI or agentic AI use case development
