To drive MICE segment revenue and market share by identifying, securing, and nurturing high-value corporate meetings, incentive groups, conferences, and large-scale events. The Sales Manager (MICE) acts as a brand ambassador, translating luxury capabilities into bespoke experiences for planners, production agencies, and corporate clients.
Key Responsibilities
1. Revenue Generation & Business Development
- Pipeline Management: Proactively source, solicit, and secure group and event business from corporate clients, third-party planners, and destination management companies (DMCs).
- Strategic Conversion: Lead the bidding process, prepare highly detailed, premium Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and present tailored pitches to close high-value accounts.
- Target Accountability: Meet and exceed assigned individual and team quarterly room-night and banquet food & beverage (F&B) revenue targets.
- Contract Negotiation: Formulate contracts, negotiate rates, and manage concessions in strict alignment with hotel yielding strategy and revenue management guidelines.
2. Market Intelligence & Relationship Management
- Key Account Cultivation: Build and maintain long-term relationships with multi-national corporations, event agencies, and industry decision-makers.
- Market Mapping: Constantly track competitor strategies, market trends, and upcoming city-wide conventions to identify shifting demand and capture new accounts.
- Industry Representation: Represent the hotel at major MICE trade shows (e.g., IMEX, IBTM), roadshows, and local networking events.
3. Cross-Departmental Alignment & Execution
- Precision Handover: Ensure seamless transition of converted business to the Event Services / Banquet Operations team via thorough, error-free resumes and contracts.
- Yield Collaboration: Work closely with the Revenue Management team to optimize space utilization and ensure appropriate minimum spend targets are met for peak periods.
- CRM Discipline: Maintain immaculate data hygiene within the property management and CRM software (e.g., Opera Cloud, Delphi, Salesforce), tracking all client communications, pipelines, and historic spends.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3–4 years of active B2B sales experience in hospitality, with at least 2 years explicitly dedicated to the luxury MICE or Group segment.
Skills & Competencies
- Commercial Drive: Strong hunter mindset with proven negotiation skills and a track record of hitting complex financial targets.
- Network Integration: Possess an existing portfolio of active MICE buyers, corporate event planners, and local/international destination agencies.
- Agility: Capability to thrive in high-pressure environments, manage quick turnarounds on proposals, and adjust pricing strategies dynamically.
