The IT Governance Manager ensures that IT operates within a controlled, compliant, and auditable framework by defining, maintaining, and enforcing Group-aligned governance, risk, compliance, and audit structures across Group, Central, and Local IT.
Beyond documentation, the role actively safeguards conformity by ensuring governance rules are applied in practice, decision bodies function effectively, audit expectations are met, and deviations are identified and corrected.
Operating in close collaboration with all the IT teams, the role ensures that governance reality across IT is consistent, transparent, and defensible.
Key responsibilities
- Own and maintain a clear and consistent IT governance framework (policies, standards, processes)
- Ensure governance is applied in daily operations across all IT teams
- Ensure the effective functioning of governance bodies, including: Architecture Review Board, change Advisory Board, ...
- Help structure and guide application approvals and changes (e.g. deployments, updates)
- Monitor how governance is used and identify gaps, deviations or inconsistencies
- Work closely with cybersecurity, data, and engineering teams on risk and compliance topics
- Act as primary point of contact for Internal and External Audit on IT governance topics
- Track action plans and ensure issues are followed up and resolved
- Help build and evolve a governance roadmap (e.g. AI, security, platforms, applications)
- Support teams to make governance clear, efficient, and easy to apply
Your profile
- Master’s degree in IT, Business Administration, Engineering, or relevant equivalent experience
- Strong experience in IT governance, risk, compliance, or audit environments
- Comfortable working across different IT domains (cybersecurity, engineering, data, etc.)
- Experience with decision-making processes or governance forums
- Good understanding of application risks and criticality
- Strong communication and influencing skills (work across teams without direct authority)
- Ability to simplify complex topics and make governance practical
- Structured and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership
- Fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch, French and/or German is a plus
