Director, Healthcare Applied Research

We are looking for a daring and driven Applied Research Manager to lead our strategy across Clara in Healthcare and Medical Imaging domains at NVIDIA. This is an incredible opportunity for an individual to get involved in a cutting-edge field and to put their research skills to use, while also paving a path to our platforms. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Bio Sciences and improving healthcare, familiarity to medical imaging, a strong understanding of machine learning and computer vision techniques, and the ability to unify strategy across the company. What you'll be doing:

• Develop and drive Applied Research strategy for our medical products and SW development platforms across many teams
• Define, develop and implement a data curation strategy to enable the next generation of medical and healthcare products together with our partners
• Focus NVIDIA efforts on opportunities to improve leading technology in healthcare bringing together capabilities from across the company and in multiple domains
• Drive research and development of new medical applications using machine learning, generative AI and computer vision
• Enable our business and solution architect teams with generative AI capabilities that can be adapted to customer products
• Deeply understand the current state of the art in generative AI as well as medical research, guide NVIDIAs strategic investment best intercept future research

What we need to see:

• A Masters or PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a similar field or equivalent experience
• Excellent interpersonal and 4+ years of leadership experience
• 10+ years of overall relevant industry experience
• Industry leading mastery of machine learning, generative models, LLMs and computer vision techniques
• Demonstrated track record of building applied medical research programs, applying research to products and innovating across domains
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, innovative, and collaborative environment
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent team leadership, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Experience with Python, C/C++, or other programming languages
