What you’ll be doing
The Capital Markets arm of CIBC serves corporate, government, and institutional clients with innovative solutions and value-added services. From actionable ideas to highly tailored financing solutions, M&A advice, and a strong line-up of capital markets and treasury services, CIBC Capital Markets provides the capabilities clients need to capitalize on opportunities and manage risk.
As Director, Business Management, Global Markets Financing & Financial Resource Management (GMF & FRM), you will play a key role in supporting the Business Management function across the GMF & FRM platform. This includes partnering closely with the business, front office leadership, and key stakeholders across CIBC to support strategy execution, enhance business performance, strengthen governance, and drive operational excellence.
This role is ideal for a dynamic professional with Capital Markets experience who thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment and is comfortable supporting a broad mandate spanning business strategy, new initiatives, governance, financial management, risk and controls, regulatory matters, technology, procurement, vendor management, and day-to-day business execution.
You will be accessible to the business throughout the day to actively respond to information requirements and requests, resolve issues as they arise, and support initiatives that impact the firm’s top and bottom lines. Working closely with senior professionals across GMF & FRM, infrastructure partners, and the broader Capital Markets CAO organization, you will help ensure business priorities are effectively executed, controlled, and communicated.

How you’ll succeed
- Business Strategy & Execution - You will play a key role in supporting and contributing to strategic and business planning by partnering closely with the GMF & FRM leadership team and infrastructure stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include managing business initiatives, coordinating Change Initiative Risk Assessments (CIRAs), developing line-of-business roadmaps, and supporting leadership presentations, dashboards, and reporting materials. You will also provide ad hoc business analysis, market research, and executive-level materials to support decision making, governance forums, and Board reporting. You’ll be accessible to the business throughout the day to respond to information requests, troubleshoot day-to-day issues, and ensure timely execution of business priorities.
- Governance, Risk & Compliance - You will oversee and coordinate key governance activities across GMF & FRM, ensuring governance inventories, including Risk Delegations and Authorized Product Lists, remain current, accurate, and appropriately maintained. You will be responsible for executing and attesting to core CIBC governance requirements, including user access reviews, contracts, records management, business-managed technology, and related risk and control processes. In partnership with Audit, Compliance, and control functions, you will coordinate and support regulatory and audit requests, manage remediation activities, and assist with deficiency management, risk and control self-assessments, privacy incidents, and other governance obligations. You will also drive continuous improvement by strengthening internal procedures, controls, and business practices, while investigating, documenting, and escalating operational, regulatory, and process-related incidents to support a strong control environment and operational excellence.
- Finance & Business Performance - You will support financial management and business performance activities of GMF & FRM, including insight on key cost-driver, expense management, vendor onboarding, invoice approvals, and financial reporting. Working closely with Finance, Technology, Infrastructure, Procurement, and business stakeholders, you will provide insights into business performance trends to support effective decision-making and resource management. You will also contribute to senior management and Board-level presentations by providing analysis on business performance, platform priorities, and strategic initiatives, while supporting a broad range of ad hoc projects and business management activities across the GMF & FRM platform.
- Stakeholder & Business Support - You will build strong relationships between GMF & FRM, the Capital Markets CAO team, and a broad network of partners across Finance, Technology, Operations, Risk Management, Compliance, Audit, Procurement, and Enterprise Business Continuity Management. Acting as a central coordination point between the business and infrastructure teams, you will help drive execution by ensuring priorities are aligned, risks are escalated appropriately, and deliverables are completed effectively. You will support leadership forums, governance committees, regulatory discussions, audits, and strategic planning activities, while bringing structure, discipline, and accountability to key initiatives by ensuring decisions, actions, and commitments are tracked through to completion.
Who you are
- You can demonstrate knowledge. Of capital markets products (products and processes) with a minimum of 3 years of work experience in capital markets or a corporate development function.
- You have an undergraduate degree. MBA/CFA/CA is an asset.

- You’re digitally savvy. You embrace innovative solutions and evolving technologies, including AI tools, and adapt quickly to new trends. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
