Dogwood Veterinary Specialty and Emergency is expanding.
Following the success of our flagship Marietta hospital, we are excited to open our second Specialty and Emergency Veterinary Hospital in Dunwoody, Georgia this Fall.
We are actively seeking experienced Veterinary Receptionists, Client Service Representatives (CSRs), Veterinary Client Care Specialists, and Veterinary Front Desk Professionals to become part of our founding Client Service team.
This is not an entry-level opportunity.
We're looking for compassionate veterinary professionals who thrive in fast-paced environments, communicate with confidence and empathy, and understand the critical role the front desk plays in supporting exceptional patient care.
As one of the first people clients meet during some of the most stressful moments of pet ownership, you'll help create a welcoming, organized, and compassionate experience from arrival through discharge.

As a member of our Client Service team, you'll collaborate closely with board-certified specialists, emergency clinicians, technicians, assistants, and hospital leadership to deliver an outstanding client experience while supporting advanced veterinary medicine.
Client Service and Communication
- Welcome clients and patients with professionalism, compassion, and empathy
- Answer multi-line phone systems while prioritizing emergency situations
- Schedule specialty consultations, emergency visits, rechecks, and follow-up appointments
- Provide timely updates regarding hospital workflow, patient status, and estimated wait times
- Assist clients through emotionally challenging situations with professionalism and kindness
Hospital Operations
- Register patients and accurately obtain medical histories and client information
- Maintain complete and accurate electronic medical records
- Coordinate communication between clients and the medical team
- Process invoices, payments, estimates, and financial transactions accurately
- Assist with prescription pick-ups and client documentation
Referral and Specialty Coordination
- Support scheduling across multiple specialty departments
- Coordinate incoming referrals and specialty appointments
- Ensure medical records and referral documentation are complete
- Help facilitate seamless communication between referring veterinarians, specialists, and clients
Team Collaboration
- Partner with veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and leadership to maintain efficient hospital workflow
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area
- Identify workflow improvements that enhance the client experience
- Support a collaborative and positive hospital culture
This is a fast-paced, client-facing role requiring exceptional communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a:
- Veterinary Receptionist
- Veterinary Client Service Representative
- Veterinary Client Care Specialist
- Veterinary Front Desk Professional
- Medical Receptionist
- Healthcare Client Service Representative
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy and professionalism
- Comfortable supporting clients during emotional and high-pressure situations
- Reliable attendance and strong organizational skills
Highly Preferred
- Previous Emergency or Specialty Veterinary Hospital experience
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology
- Experience using veterinary practice management software
- Experience working in a high-volume veterinary or medical environment
- Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus
