Our mission is simple: to motivate people to live their best active lives. We believe in the power of movement to connect and drive people forward.
About This Role
The Office of the CEO operates at the center of Strava's most consequential decisions. Shelby Rhodes, Chief of Staff and Product Operations, leads a function committed to making the executive office run with precision, clarity, and trust. As Strava scales toward its next chapter, the executive support team needs dedicated people leadership as much as it needs operational excellence.
As Senior Manager, Executive Business Partner, you will lead a team of 7 EBPs while remaining closely embedded in the CEO's office alongside Shelby. This is a player-coach role in the truest sense, you are responsible for the performance and development of your team and for ensuring the CEO's operational needs are met with the highest level of judgment and discretion. The right person leads by example, models calm in high-stakes moments, and raises the bar of everyone around them.
This is a full-time, in-office role based in our San Francisco office.
What You'll Do
- Own and evolve the CEO's operational rhythm in partnership with the Chief of Staff and Product Operations, including calendar prioritization, planning systems, and communications frameworks
- Manage, develop, and support a team of 7 EBPs through regular 1:1s, career development conversations, performance management, and day-to-day coaching
- Lead communications on sensitive and high-priority matters on behalf of the CEO, ensuring clarity and consistency across leadership audiences, including the Board of Directors
- Partner with direct manager and senior leaders to track priorities, drive completion of key deliverables, and surface what needs attention before it becomes urgent
- Prepare and oversee executive-level meeting materials, briefings, and readouts including capturing what was said and what was left unsaid
- Shape team standards, accountability frameworks, and operational processes that elevate the EBP function across the organization
- Coordinate complex domestic and international travel; manage expenses, purchase orders, contracts, and budget tracking as needed
- Support special projects and cross-functional initiatives that enable the CEO's office and EBP team to operate at their best
What You'll Bring to the Team
- Substantial experience supporting C-suite executives, ideally a CEO or equivalent, in a high-growth or scaling technology company
- Proven people management experience you have led, developed, and performance-managed a team of EBPs, EAs, or similar operational professionals
- Demonstrated ability to build and evolve operational systems for prioritization, performance tracking, and executive-level planning
- Strong executive communications skills — you write, edit, and manage sensitive communications on behalf of senior leaders with clarity, discretion, and the right tone for every audience
- The ability to influence without authority, hold boundaries with empathy, and model calm and stability in high-stakes situations
- Exceptional discretion with sensitive information, meaning you are trusted, honest, and dependable without exception
- Experience coaching and developing executive support professionals; you raise the people around you, not just the work
- Experience managing a team through a significant company transition (IPO, rapid scale, or organizational change) is a plus
