Description
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, self-motivated Traffic Design Engineer who thrives on hands-on design, problem-solving, and collaboration within DRMP’s growing Tampa team. The position offers meaningful growth opportunities across a diverse portfolio of projects, including highway and interchange design, roadway widenings, and intersection improvements—featuring both conventional and innovative intersection solutions.
- Experience with Signing and Pavement Marking Plans, Signalization, Lighting and ITS plans design
- Assists Group Leader with the marketing, preparation of scope of services and fee estimation for potential projects.
- Collaborate with clients, subconsultant partners, technical staff, and managers across multiple disciplines to develop quality deliverables within schedule and budgetary requirements
- Direct and mentor less-experienced support staff
- Conduct engineering investigations and planning work by completing well-defined tasks including collection and analysis of data; perform routine calculations, and participate in evaluating the feasibility of alternate solutions
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
- Must have Florida PE license.
- 1-5 years of experience (post-registration experience).
- Valid driver’s license with approved/acceptable driving history required.
- Management duties include budgeting, scheduling, job tracking, client interaction, and staff management.
- Outstanding communication skills both verbal and written and the ability to forge strong relationships with clients, professionals, and your team members.
- DOT experience with ITS, signal design, signing and marking design, and lighting.
- Proficient in MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer (ORD); Auto CADD experience is a plus
