Job Description:

DB Global Technology is Deutsche Bank’s technology centre in Central and Eastern Europe. Since its set-up in 2013, Bucharest Technology Centre (BEX) has constantly proven its capacity to deliver global technology products and services, playing a dynamic role in the Bank’s technology transformation.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement robust and scalable core application modules and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Actively participate in technical design discussions, requirement gathering, and sprint planning meetings with product owners and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our technical infrastructure, including continuous integration (CI) and automated deployment pipelines.
  • Break down complex tasks, provide accurate estimations, and manage individual work streams effectively.
  • Conduct and participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and mentoring junior team members.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve software defects, ensuring high-quality and reliable application performance.
  • Develop comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure code quality and system stability.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, API contracts, and operational guides.
  • Support the ongoing maintenance and evolution of existing applications, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to security standards.

Skills:

  • 3-4+ years of professional experience in software development, with a strong focus on Java.
  • Solid understanding and hands-on experience with core Java concepts and principles, including Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
  • Proficiency with the Spring Boot framework and related Spring ecosystem components.
  • Demonstrable experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns and best practices for building maintainable, scalable, and resilient applications.
  • Familiarity with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles and Web Services (REST/SOAP).
  • Understanding of logging frameworks, exception handling, and debugging techniques.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Git).
  • Experience with continuous integration tools like Maven, TeamCity, Jenkins, or Artifactory.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Spring Security and JWT (JSON Web Tokens).
  • Understanding of security protocols (SSL, TLS, certificate handling).
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g. GCP).
  • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
