Join BMO’s Digital Core B2B API & Integration team and help design the platforms that enable seamless, secure, and scalable digital interactions across our ecosystem. We’re looking for a hands-on technical leader who thrives in building modern cloud-native solutions and mentoring high-performing teams.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and mentor a team of developers delivering enterprise-grade API and integration solutions
  • Design and build scalable, secure, cloud-native applications using AWS serverless technologies
  • Drive best practices across architecture, coding, security, and performance
  • Partner with architects, product teams, and stakeholders to shape solutions and roadmap
  • Champion DevOps culture with CI/CD, automation, and observability
  • Conduct code reviews and elevate engineering quality across the team
  • Continuously improve systems, processes, and developer productivity
  • Explore and adopt emerging technologies to enhance solutions

What You Bring

  • 5+ years building APIs and integration solutions (REST/SOAP)
  • 5+ years of hands-on AWS experience (Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, etc.)
  • 3+ years leading developers and driving technical delivery
  • Strong development experience with Node.js and/or Java
  • Solid understanding of API security (OAuth, SSL/TLS)
  • Experience with API tooling (Swagger/OpenAPI, Postman, API Connect)
  • Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines (Bitbucket, Bamboo, JIRA)
  • Knowledge of modern software development practices (SDLC, testing, release management)
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases

  • Exposure to AI/ML or Generative AI concepts or integrations
  • Interest in applying AI to automation, APIs, or developer productivity

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
