Description
Role Purpose
The Visual Merchandising Manager is responsible for driving the execution and consistency of the brands visual merchandising standards across all retail touchpoints in Malaysia. This role ensures the effective implementation of global and regional visual merchandising guidelines while adapting to local market requirements to enhance customer experience, maximize product visibility, and support commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Visual Merchandising Planning & Execution
· Lead the implementation and maintenance of visual merchandising standards across all retail stores, shop-in-shops, demo zones, and trade channels.
· Manage forecasting, planning, ordering, and deployment of Point-of-Sale Materials (POSM), display fixtures, merchandising tools, and launch materials.
· Ensure all visual merchandising elements are installed accurately and maintained to the highest brand standards.
· Review and validate merchandising requirements for product launches, seasonal campaigns, and promotional activities.
2. Product Launches & Retail Activations
· Partner with Marketing teams to develop and execute visual merchandising plans for new product launches and retail campaigns.
· Support the implementation of launch animations, retail activations, and customer engagement initiatives within stores.
· Ensure launch displays and merchandising executions are delivered on time and in accordance with brand guidelines.
· Monitor launch execution quality and recommend improvements where necessary.
3. New Store Openings & Store Upgrades
· Lead visual merchandising execution for new store openings, retail expansions, and store refurbishment projects.
· Collaborate with internal stakeholders, landlords, contractors, and retail partners to ensure successful project delivery.
· Conduct quality checks on fixtures, displays, graphics, and merchandising installations to ensure alignment with MY Premium Lifestyle Brand standards.
· Support store layout optimisation and retail environment enhancements to improve customer experience and sales productivity.
4. Vendor & Project Management
· Manage external contractors, suppliers, fabricators, and production agencies for visual merchandising projects.
· Review quotations, production specifications, timelines, and installation plans to ensure cost-effective execution.
· Guide and monitor vendors to ensure compliance with brand visual merchandising standards and quality expectations.
· Oversee project timelines and manage multiple merchandising initiatives simultaneously.
5. Reporting & Stakeholder Management
· Maintain accurate records of merchandising assets, POSM inventory, project timelines, and budgets.
· Provide regular updates on project progress, retail audits, and implementation status.
· Diploma or Degree in Visual Merchandising, Interior Design, Retail Design, Architecture, Marketing, or a related field.
· Minimum 5–8 years of visual merchandising experience within the luxury, lifestyle brands, electronics, premium consumer brand, and retail industry.
· Strong understanding of retail environments, customer journey, and visual merchandising principles.
· Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
· Experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, and V-Ray is an added advantage.
· Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
· Detail-oriented with excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
