Overview :

The Deputy Manager – Industrial Engineering will be responsible for driving productivity improvement, capacity planning, manufacturing optimization, cost reduction, and operational excellence initiatives across aerospace manufacturing operations. The role will focus on improving manufacturing efficiency through work measurement, line balancing, process optimization, lean manufacturing, and data-driven decision-making while ensuring compliance with aerospace quality and safety standards.

The incumbent will collaborate closely with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management teams to support business objectives related to delivery, cost, quality, and operational performance. He should be willing to work in a shifts as and when required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Industrial Engineering & Productivity Improvement
  • Conduct time studies, motion studies, and work measurement activities to establish standard times.
  • Develop and maintain labor standards, productivity metrics, and manufacturing performance benchmarks.
  • Identify and implement productivity improvement opportunities across manufacturing processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects focused on reducing cycle time, non-value-added activities, and operational waste.
  • Establish and monitor Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and manufacturing efficiency KPIs.
  • Capacity Planning & Resource Optimization
  • Perform capacity analysis for manpower, equipment, and production lines.
  • Support long-term and short-term production planning through capacity modeling.
  • Develop resource loading plans aligned with production schedules and customer demand.
  • Identify manufacturing bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve throughput.
  • Manufacturing Process Improvement
  • Analyze manufacturing workflows and optimize plant layouts for improved material flow and operational efficiency.
  • Lead line balancing activities for assembly and fabrication operations.
  • Support implementation of advanced manufacturing methodologies and digital manufacturing initiatives.
  • Participate in new product introduction (NPI) and industrialization activities.
  • Lean Manufacturing & Operational Excellence
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives including: Value Stream Mapping (VSM)Kaizen5SStandard WorkVisual ManagementSMEDWaste Elimination
  • Facilitate continuous improvement workshops and cross-functional improvement projects.
  • Drive cost reduction and productivity enhancement programs.
  • Aerospace Compliance & Quality Support
  • Ensure industrial engineering practices comply with aerospace quality requirements.
  • Support manufacturing readiness reviews, process validation, and audit activities.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering teams to maintain compliance with industry standards.
  • Support initiatives related to AS9100, customer audits, and regulatory requirements.
  • Team Leadership:Mentor and guide Industrial Engineers and Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in operational excellence initiatives.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and operational discipline.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering in Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 12+ years experience in Manufacturing function
