ROLE PURPOSE
To provide financial and commercial support to the Australian and New Zealand team, facilitating the achievement of business goals within budgeted resource levels and enhancing local decision-making through proactive financial analysis and interpretation, while also supporting the broader Finance team.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Champion the ERP system, to ensure it is utilised to its full potential, in order to continually improve processes and efficiency with the Finance function and the wider business
- Lead month end; prepare monthly journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, loading and reconciliation of results into the consolidation system, prepare monthly reporting packs, KPI’s and ad-hoc financial information
- Work closely with the Finance Manager to analyse and interpret results and trends, including monitoring revenue and overheads and, where appropriate, propose corrective action in relation to deviations against budget
- Support the Finance Manager with the preparation of the annual budget, monthly and quarterly financial forecasts, helping to drive forecast accuracy
- Prepare statutory tax and reporting requirements, such as annual statutory accounts, Country by Country tax reporting, GST, FBT, Workers Comp and Payroll Tax
- Liaise with and support the auditors to ensure all information is provided in a timely basis to allow the audit to be closed out on time according to the group timetable
- Control the company’s fixed assets, including the approval process for capitalisation
- Review of reconciliations and controls in place in relation to company inventory
- Lead the preparation and control of the monthly payroll
- Ensure compliance with internal control systems and statutory financial regulations
- Identify and recommend reporting and process improvements where opportunities exist to encourage continuous improvement
- Oversee the Finance offshore team processes
- Any other tasks as required to ensure the effective operation of the Finance team
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education Level:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or related discipline required
Qualifications:
- CA or CPA qualification (or equivalent) preferred but not required
REQUIRED SKI LLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Strong experience and knowledge of IFRS and JSOX/SOX
- Experience with Oracle JDE or similar ERP system
- High level of computer literacy, including MS Office, specifically, Excel
- Previous experience in a similar role desirable
- High attention to detail and the ability to work accurately
- Good communication skills in English (written and spoken) and interpersonal skills
- Driven, able to work under pressure and deliver results
- Highly self-motivated and able to prioritise
- Can demonstrate commercial acumen
