Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a Master student (d/f/m) to join their Digital Payload Processors Design Team in Taufkirchen/Ottobrunn near Munich. The role involves supporting R&D activities on securing Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN), particularly focusing on jamming and spoofing resistance for 6G/5G communication systems. Responsibilities include sequence analysis, attack modeling, robustness characterization, feature identification, and benchmark development. Requires a strong foundation in Digital Signal Processing and communication theory, with proficiency in MATLAB or Python.
Job Description:
In order to support the Digital Payload Processors Design Team, Airbus Defence and Space is offering the following
You are looking for a master thesis and want to get to know the work of a signal processing engineer for space systems? Then apply now! We look forward to you supporting us in the department Telecom & Navigation Processing as a Master student (d/f/m)!
Our site is just a stone's throw away from Munich, the beautiful capital of Bavaria. Are you into sports and other outdoor activities? The Alps and Lake Starnberg are within an hour’s reach, offering a multitude of recreational options.
6G / 5G is giving the convergence of terrestrial and satellite-based networks a major boost. Under the keyword "Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN)", satellites are being consistently integrated into the mobile communications standard for the first time, subsequently paving the way for a global and dense communication network in the future 6G generation.
Due to the inherent conditions of wireless communication – and particularly with the deployment of open standards and vast coverage areas – the threat posed by jammers and spoofers is ubiquitous. Specifically at the physical layer, the detection and suppression of malicious signals constitute an enormous challenge that must be overcome to ensure the integrity of the network.
The Master’s Thesis position will support the ongoing R&D activities on on-board implementation and scaling of a jamming robust gNodeB. The successful candidate shall contribute to one or more of the following fields:
