McGill University's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is seeking a Teaching Assistant for ECSE 557 (Intro to Ethics of Intelligent Systems) for the Fall 2026 semester. This part-time, in-person role in Montreal, Quebec, is open exclusively to McGill graduate students. Responsibilities include designing tutorial content, leading sessions, providing tutoring, and grading assignments. Candidates need public speaking skills, AI ethics research experience, knowledge of AI ethics frameworks, fairness toolkits, value-sensitive design, Python code assessment for ML models, and experience with local open-weight generative AI models.

Required duties:
Design tutorial contents and questions; lead weekly tutorial session; tutoring and discussion related to course contents/project. Grading of assignments and projects.
Required Qualifications:
Requires public speaking ability and experience in AI ethics research publication venues (e.g., AIES, FAccT conferences). Knowledge of existing AI ethics frameworks, fairness toolkits, and fundamental concepts behind value-sensitive design. Capable of assessing submitted machine learning models and code in Python. Knowledge of using open weight generative AI models locally.
