Exponential-e is seeking a Core Network Engineer to design, implement, and document core network infrastructure projects. This role involves troubleshooting network issues, acting as a senior escalation point, and participating in a 24/7 on-call rota. The ideal candidate will have experience with service provider networks, networking protocols (TCP/IP, IS-IS, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, MP-BGP, L2/L3 VPNs), and network traffic analysis tools like Wireshark. Desirable skills include Layer-2/EVPN/VXLAN Data Centre networks, F5 BIG-IP products, and DDoS mitigation solutions. Experience with Nokia, F5, or Fortigate vendors is advantageous.

Overall Purpose of the role:
Your focus will predominantly be designing and implementing projects pertaining to the Core Network Infrastructure. You will be responsible for documenting the network design as well as providing a handover to your peers so that the solution can be maintained by the Operations team.
You will also be acting as an escalation point for incidents concerning core network infrastructure/services. You will be working closely with team members whilst providing mentoring where required for Core Network Operations engineers, as well as working with other internal teams.
