Dogwood Veterinary Specialty and Emergency is expanding.
Following the success of our flagship specialty and emergency hospital in Marietta, we are excited to open our second state-of-the-art Specialty and Emergency hospital in Dunwoody, Georgia this October 2026.
We are currently building our founding Overnight Emergency team and are seeking experienced Veterinary Technicians, Licensed Veterinary Technicians, Registered Veterinary Technicians, Certified Veterinary Technicians, and highly skilled Veterinary Assistants who are passionate about Emergency Medicine.
This is your opportunity to help shape a brand-new hospital while working alongside experienced Emergency clinicians and Board-Certified Specialists from day one.
Overnight Schedule
We are currently hiring for:
7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
or
4:00 PM - 2:00 AM
Shift Differentials
+$2.00/hour
Monday through Friday
Between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM
+$3.00/hour
Weekend overnight differential
Saturday and Sunday between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM
Selected candidates will begin paid onboarding and specialty training at our Marietta hospital in September 2026 before transitioning into the new Dunwoody location upon opening.
This is not an entry-level opportunity.

You'll work alongside Emergency doctors, Criticalists, and Specialty clinicians managing complex cases that allow you to fully utilize your technical skillset.
What You'll Do
Emergency and Triage
- Perform emergency patient triage
- Assist with stabilization of critical patients
- Support CPR and RECOVER protocols
- Assist with emergency procedures
- Prepare patients for surgery and specialty consultations
Emergency Nursing and ICU Care
- Monitor hospitalized ICU patients
- Administer medications, CRIs, blood products and fluid therapy
- Perform ongoing nursing assessments
- Monitor pain management
- Maintain detailed treatment records
Advanced Technical Skills
Confident candidates should have experience with:
- IV catheter placement
- Venipuncture
- Laboratory diagnostics
- Patient monitoring
- Oxygen therapy
- ECG monitoring
- Radiology
- Fluid therapy
- Medical calculations
- Hospitalized patient care
Anesthesia and Surgical Support
- Assist with emergency surgical procedures
- Monitor anesthesia
- Support patient recovery
- Prepare treatment and surgery areas
This position is ideal for experienced technicians with backgrounds in:
- Emergency Medicine
- Critical Care
- ICU
- Specialty Medicine
- Urgent Care
- High-Volume General Practice
Experience
2+ years of veterinary clinical experience preferred
Credentials Preferred
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT)
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
Highly experienced Veterinary Assistants with strong emergency skills are encouraged to apply.
RECOVER CPR Certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements
Team members should be comfortable:
- Standing and walking throughout a 10 to 12-hour shift
- Frequently bending, lifting, kneeling, and reaching
- Safely lifting up to 50 pounds independently and more with assistance
- Performing patient restraint
- Working in a fast-paced Emergency environment
- Working around animal dander, medical gases, cleaning products, disinfectants, blood, bodily fluids, and other veterinary-related substances
