We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Spine Surgeon to join our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will specialize in the diagnosis, treatment, and surgical management of spinal disorders affecting adult and pediatric patients. This role requires exceptional clinical expertise, a patient-centered approach, and the ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals to deliver outstanding outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with a wide range of spinal conditions, including degenerative diseases, spinal deformities, trauma, tumors, infections, and congenital disorders.
- Perform elective and emergency spinal surgical procedures using open, minimally invasive, and advanced surgical techniques.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based clinical practices.
- Interpret diagnostic imaging, laboratory results, and clinical findings to establish accurate diagnoses.
- Provide comprehensive pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative patient care.
- Collaborate with neurologists, orthopedic surgeons, physiatrists, pain specialists, radiologists, anesthesiologists, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and clinical decision-making.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care in electronic medical records.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, surgical procedures, risks, and recovery plans.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and departmental meetings.
- Mentor junior physicians and contribute to medical education and professional development activities.
- Ensure compliance with clinical governance, infection prevention, and patient safety standards.
- Medical degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- Completion of a recognized residency and advanced specialty training in Orthopedic Surgery or Neurosurgery.
- Fellowship or subspecialty training in Spine Surgery from a recognized institution.
- Board Certification or equivalent specialist qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years of post-fellowship experience as a Consultant Spine Surgeon.
- Demonstrated expertise in complex spinal procedures, including minimally invasive spine surgery.
- Experience managing spinal trauma, degenerative spine disorders, deformity correction, and revision spine surgery.
- Strong clinical decision-making, diagnostic, and surgical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
