Ornata is seeking a hands-on Brand & Content Lead to build a trusted brand for their agriculture operations platform. This ground-floor role involves creating all content end-to-end, including case studies, photography, and video, by working directly with farmers. The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller, a creator, and has a genuine interest in agriculture and sharing stories, with a focus on honesty and grounded communication to resonate with a practical audience. While experience is not strictly required, a portfolio showcasing content creation and growth is a plus.
About Ornata
Ornata is building the remote operations platform for agriculture.
We help farms operate machinery without a human in the cab, using the equipment they
already own. Our service combines retrofit autonomy hardware, remote operators, AI, and
operational systems to unlock the benefits of autonomy for every farm.
We are working with some of Australia's leading broadacre farming businesses and are now
building the operational foundations required to scale safely, reliably, and repeatably.
About the role
We are looking for a Brand & Content Lead to build a trusted brand for Ornata, while defining the public image of an innovative new product category in a traditionally conservative industry.
Ornata is doing something new: a remote operations platform where our team works directly
with farmers to give them all the benefits of autonomy. Our audience is practical and
pragmatic, and the most powerful proof comes from growers themselves — farmers showing
other farmers how it performs on their farm. Your job is to build content that amplifies
the strong word-of-mouth traction Ornata is building and earns the trust of growers across
the sector — a highly varied stream of case studies and media that show three things: the
technology delivers value on the farm, farmers are using it as a practical everyday tool,
and the use cases keep growing.
This is a hands-on, do-it-all content role, and case studies are at the heart of it. A big
part of the job is getting out to farms — spending time with our customers, and drawing
their experience out so it communicates effectively to an audience of farmers in
the same position. The best person for this role will know how to put a farmer at ease,
find the real story, and tell it in a way that lands with their peers.
You'll create everything end to end and in-house — the writing, photography, video, and
social — with the honest, grounded voice we use everywhere.
This is Ornata's first dedicated brand and content hire — a true ground-floor role with a
big remit. If you're early in your career, hugely ambitious, and ready to own it, this role
is built for you: don't let the title hold you back.
What you'll do
- Build case studies with farmers: travel to farms, spend time with customers, and
capture their experience on their own turf.
- Draw the story out of farmers and shape it so it resonates with an audience of other
farmers in a similar position.
- Produce a consistent, highly varied stream of media across formats — writing,
photography, video, and social.
- Show the breadth of adoption across different farms and use cases through the
volume and variety of that proof.
- Keep reinforcing the three proof points: the technology delivers value on the farm,
growers use it as a practical everyday tool, and the use cases keep growing.
- Own the content calendar and cadence, and grow Ornata's reach, following, and awareness.
- Keep everything on-brand and honest.
What success looks like
In the first 90 days, you will have found Ornata's voice, been out to farms, built strong
relationships with a first set of customers, and published case studies that get noticed.
Over the first 12 months, success means a growing library of varied, credible case studies
and media showing the technology delivering value on farms and growers using it as a
practical everyday tool — a body of work that builds a trusted brand and an audience that
is steadily growing.
This is a startup role, and that's the exciting part: you will hold full responsibility for
Ornata's marketing and brand outcomes. We care far more about raw talent, drive, and
creativity than years on a CV. If you're ambitious, a genuinely good creator, and ready to
do what it takes to build a powerful brand around an exciting and innovative product, we
want to hear from you — don't rule yourself out because you haven't done it all before.
You'll likely be a good fit if you:
- Are genuinely good with people — you can put a farmer at ease, earn their trust, and
draw out an honest, compelling story.
- Understand (or can quickly learn) how farmers think, and know how to make one farmer's
experience resonate with another.
- Are a strong storyteller who can make complex, technical things clear and compelling.
- Can create, not just plan — you can turn out real writing, photos, and video, or you're
hungry to teach yourself the parts you can't do yet.
- Have a sharp instinct for what reads as honest versus what reads as hype.
- Are happy on the road and in the paddock — this role gets out to farms regularly.
- Are driven and self-directed, with a genuine interest in agriculture, people, and
sharing their stories.
Useful experience
None of this is required — bring what you have, and be ready to learn the rest:
- Any content, brand, social, or communications work (paid, personal projects, or study).
- A portfolio, blog, channel, or feed you've built and grown yourself.
- Basic design, photography, or video production.
- Marketing to technical or industrial audiences (agtech, machinery, robotics, B2B).
- Familiarity with agriculture, broadacre farming, or rural communities.
Application question suggestion
Tell us about a time you got someone to open up and share their story — and how you
turned it into something that connected with an audience. Show us the result if you can.
- Be part of a committed team and see the rewards of your work — all early team members,
including this role, hold company options, so each of us is rewarded for the company's
success.
- Own the content function of an early-stage company from day one, and grow with it.
- A rare chance to build a brand and an audience for a whole new category, not just a product.
- Learn fast, working directly with the Commercial Lead and the founders.
- Quick-paced career growth for tenacious go-getters.
- Get out of the office and into the field, close to the machinery and the growers using it.
- Be part of an inner-city Melbourne team building technology for one of Australia's most
important industries.
