About Us

Since 2016, Patchwork Health has been on a mission to make truly flexible and sustainable working a reality for all healthcare staff. Their fully integrated workforce management solution helps optimise outcomes for organisations, managers, staff and patients alike. Built by a team of dedicated healthcare veterans, and co-created with the NHS, their technology and services have been embraced by over 100 healthcare sites to date.

Patchwork offers a range of different solutions, including temporary staff banks, which enable organisations to source temporary staff from their own pool of approved workers; ‘collaborative staff banks’, which help healthcare organisations team up with others in the same region to widen and share their temporary staffing pools; an innovative new rostering solution which enables more flexible, sustainable staffing for permanent healthcare staff; and an Agency Manager which makes it easier for managers to select appropriate temporary staff from external agencies when necessary. Patchwork Insights also provides managers with comprehensive data oversight, to monitor staffing trends, shift fill rates and pay rate escalations, and reliably plan ahead to prevent staffing gaps.

Patchwork Health has been recognised as HSJ’s 2022 Staffing Solution of the Year, and have recently received the prestigious HSJ Partnership Award and the Spectator’s Economic Innovator of the Year Award.

About the Role

This role plays a key part in Patchwork's growth, helping us bring our products to more NHS organisations and expand our impact across healthcare.

You'll be responsible for winning new business, building relationships with senior stakeholders and leading complex sales opportunities from first conversation through to close. Our customers are typically large NHS organisations, meaning you'll regularly engage with multiple stakeholders, including senior leaders and executive decision-makers.

As an Account Executive at Patchwork, you'll own the entire sales cycle. From identifying and engaging prospective customers to running demos, managing commercial conversations and closing deals, you'll have the autonomy and responsibility to drive opportunities forward. You'll also work with existing customers to identify opportunities to expand their use of Patchwork's products and maximise the value we deliver.

This is a role for someone who enjoys taking ownership, thrives in a fast-moving environment and is excited by the challenge of helping scale a growing HealthTech business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and qualification through to product demonstrations, commercial discussions, contract negotiations and closing deals.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities, consistently working towards and exceeding individual sales targets.
  • Develop relationships with senior stakeholders and decision-makers across NHS organisations, using a value-led approach to understand challenges, build business cases and demonstrate ROI.
  • Identify opportunities to expand customer use of Patchwork's products, helping organisations realise greater value whilst contributing to revenue growth.
  • Follow and continuously refine your approach within Patchwork's sales processes and methodology, ensuring opportunities are progressed effectively and consistently.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline information within our CRM, ensuring opportunities, activities and forecasts are kept up to date.
  • Produce accurate weekly, monthly and quarterly sales forecasts, providing visibility into current performance and future opportunities.
  • Represent Patchwork at industry events, conferences and networking opportunities, building relationships and increasing awareness of our products and mission.
  • Work closely with colleagues across Marketing, Product, Client Operations and the wider Revenue team to deliver a seamless customer experience and maximise commercial opportunities.
  • Continuously develop your sales skills through training, coaching and feedback.
  • Build a strong understanding of Patchwork's products, customers and future roadmap, enabling you to confidently position our solutions and identify new opportunities.

Essential

  • Experience generating new business within a SaaS environment, ideally selling software solutions into NHS, healthcare or HealthTech organisations.
  • Demonstrable experience selling complex solutions to senior decision-makers, including C-suite stakeholders within enterprise-level organisations.
  • A proven track record of carrying a sales quota of £600,000+ and closing deals with an average contract value (ACV) of £150,000+.
  • Experience managing both new business and account growth opportunities, with a track record of identifying and converting cross-sell and up-sell opportunities.
  • Comfortable owning a territory and working independently, whilst actively sharing knowledge and collaborating with colleagues across the wider team.
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage both internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders.
  • Experience using sales methodologies such as MEDDIC, SPICED, Challenger or similar frameworks.
  • A proactive, self-starting approach, with the ability to take ownership and drive opportunities forward.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build credibility, deliver compelling presentations and adapt your approach to different audiences.
  • Highly organised and detail-oriented, with a commitment to maintaining high standards across your work.
  • Tech savvy and adaptable, with experience using CRM platforms such as HubSpot and an understanding of the importance of accurate pipeline management and data hygiene.
  • Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced scale-up environment and contributing to a growing team.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working within a technology start-up or scale-up.
  • An established network of senior NHS stakeholders, particularly within workforce, HR or operational leadership functions.
