UBC is seeking a Campus Mail Driver/Sorter for their Vancouver campus. This full-time position involves driving a mail truck and other vehicles to distribute internal and external mail and parcels across campus and local areas. Responsibilities include sorting, assembling, and delivering mail, maintaining vehicle safety, and responding to general inquiries. The role reports to the Operations Manager and Campus Mail Coordinators. A valid BC driver's license and six months of related experience are required.

Job Summary
Under general administrative direction of the Operations Manager and the direct supervision of the Campus Mail Coordinators, drives a mail truck and/or other delivery vehicles to distribute internal and external mail/parcels to designated local areas.
Organizational Status
Reports to the Operations Manager and the direct supervision of the Campus Mail Coordinators.

Consequence of Error/Judgement
Decisions relate to sequence of duties; errors cause minor delays in service or lost/misdirected mail.
Supervision Received
Works under the general administrative direction of the Operations Manager and the direct supervision of the Campus Mail Coordinators.

None. May explain work sequence to others.
Minimum Qualifications
High school graduation, valid BC driver’s license and a minimum six months of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a large automated mailing service an asset. Ability to provide quality service to customers in a courteous, patient manner. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines. Good physical condition with the ability to lift and transport parcels, varying in weight, up to sixty (60) pounds. Ability to push book carts that required 30lbs to 85lbs of force; 4 to 6 carts moved each day. Ability to operate computers, computer operating systems, and productivity software; as well as metering and associated mailing equipment as asset. Ability to exercise sound judgment.
