A reputed private healthcare group in Abu Dhabi seeks a Consultant General Surgeon. The role involves providing comprehensive surgical consultation, diagnosis, treatment, and postoperative care. The Consultant General Surgeon is responsible for providing comprehensive surgical consultation, diagnosis, treatment, and postoperative care for patients requiring general surgical interventions. The role requires delivering high-quality, evidence-based healthcare services while maintaining patient safety, ethical medical practice, and compliance with UAE healthcare regulations and the healthcare group's clinical standards.
Diagnose and evaluate patients with general surgical conditions through comprehensive clinical assessments.
Perform elective and emergency surgical procedures in accordance with internationally accepted clinical guidelines.
Provide pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative patient management.
Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and diagnostic investigations.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Maintain accurate, timely, and complete patient medical records in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, morbidity and mortality meetings, and peer reviews.
Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control protocols, patient safety standards, and hospital policies.
Supervise and mentor junior doctors, residents, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals where applicable.
Respond promptly to emergency surgical cases and participate in on-call duty schedules as assigned.
Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, surgical risks, and postoperative care.
Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional ethics at all times.
Participate in continuing medical education (CME), departmental meetings, and professional development activities.
Ensure compliance with applicable UAE healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.
Qualifications
Board Certification or equivalent specialist qualification in General Surgery from a recognized international medical board.
Fellowship in General Surgery is preferred.
Valid professional license or eligibility for licensure from the relevant UAE health authority (e.g., Dubai Health Authority, Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, or Ministry of Health and Prevention).
