Job Summary:

Panelmatic is seeking an experienced Tool Crib Attendant to join our team. Responsible for managing the daily operation of the tool crib by issuing, receiving, maintaining, tracking, and organizing tools, equipment, and consumable inventory. This position helps ensure production and maintenance personnel have the equipment they need while maintaining accurate inventory records, minimizing tool loss, and supporting preventive maintenance activities.

Job Duties:

  • Issue and receive tools, equipment, and supplies to employees.
  • Track tool usage using inventory management software or manual logs.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and perform routine cycle counts.
  • Inspect returned tools for cleanliness, damage, and proper operation.
  • Minor tooling repairs and calibration.
  • Maintain adequate inventory levels by ordering replacement tools and consumables.
  • Organize and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient tool crib.
  • Label and barcode new tools and equipment.
  • Monitor tool accountability and investigate missing or damaged items.
  • Assist with annual physical inventory audits.
  • Receive, inspect, and stock incoming shipments.
  • Support preventive maintenance by ensuring technicians have required tools and equipment available.
  • Generate reports on inventory levels, tool utilization, and purchasing needs.
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
  • Assist with other warehouse, facilities, or maintenance duties as assigned.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of inventory, warehouse, maintenance, or tool crib experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of industrial hand tools, power tools, electrical tools, and measuring equipment.
  • Experience using inventory management or CMMS software preferred.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with barcode scanners and inventory systems.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and 5S principles.
  • Familiarity with calibration programs and tool maintenance.

Physical Requirements 

  • Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Bend, stoop, kneel, and climb ladders as needed.
  • Ability to work in warehouse and manufacturing environments with varying temperatures.
