Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Plant Operator to join our production team. The Plant Operator is responsible for the day-to-day operation of precast concrete production equipment, ensuring products are manufactured to company and industry quality standards in a safe and efficient manner. This position is ideal for candidates looking to grow within the concrete manufacturing industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor production equipment including mixers, casting beds, forms, and vibration equipment
- Set up, strip, and clean concrete forms and molds according to production schedules
- Accurately measure, mix, and pour concrete materials following established mix designs
- Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and work orders
- Perform quality control inspections on finished products to ensure compliance with specifications
- Properly place reinforcing steel, embeds, and hardware into forms prior to casting
- Operate material handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, and front-end loaders (training available)
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times
- Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance
- Accurately complete production logs, inspection records, and daily reports
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and standard operating procedures
- Work collaboratively with team members and communicate effectively with supervisors
Required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to read a tape measure and basic math skills
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
- Ability to lift up to 50–75 lbs regularly
Preferred
- 1–3 years of experience in concrete, construction, or manufacturing
- Experience operating forklifts or overhead cranes
- Basic blueprint or shop drawing reading ability
- OSHA 10 certification
- Forklift certification
Physical Requirements
- Standing/Walking Up to 8–10 hours per shift
- Lifting Up to 50–75 lbs regularly
- Bending/Stooping Frequent
