We are a unique combination of a technology company and a trading house. Our mission is to turn data into market-beating trading strategies by using sophisticated mathematical models while helping to balance the power grid. We also started to build our own BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) sites.
The Cloud Infrastructure team consists of top-class engineers who are specialists in different parts of the infrastructure, but they also have wide knowledge of the whole infrastructure. As a Junior member of the team, you'll learn directly from experts while contributing to real projects from day one.
What you would work on?
- You will join our Cloud Infrastructure team to learn, grow, and support day-to-day operations under the guidance of senior engineers.
- We run all our workload in the cloud, so your daily bread will be infrastructure on Microsoft Azure and, occasionally, Oracle Cloud and AWS.
- Although it's infrastructure, it is driven by code, and as such you'll get hands-on with Terraform, Terragrunt and Ansible to describe desired states, and Gitlab CI in combination with ArgoCD to build and deploy things — with support from senior teammates as you build confidence.
- Sometimes you'll help dig into issues and troubleshoot things. We use Grafana Cloud for this purpose with custom data sources.
- We want to keep our environments secure, so you'll be introduced to PKI built on Hashicorp Vault, cert-manager on K8S, IPsec VPNs from our branch offices and third parties, firewalls (we use Fortinet devices), and cloud identities, among others.
- With the BESS projects, we've started working on networking and industrial PCs as part of our daily job, so you'll get exposure to networking regularly.
- Sometimes we need to write a simple app for a specific job, so your scripting skills will get plenty of practice. Python, Go, Bash, and PowerShell are the languages we use most on the Cloud Infrastructure team.
- You'll contribute to ongoing infrastructure modernization efforts, helping make things more secure, performant, and developer-friendly, while growing your own skills along the way.
What makes you a great candidate?
- Basic to good understanding of networking principles such as routing, switching, VPNs, and DNS. Familiarity with IPsec VPNs or BGP routing is a plus, but not required.
- Some exposure to or willingness to learn Terraform; a foundational understanding of infrastructure-as-code concepts is a good start.
- Basic knowledge of Kubernetes and curiosity about how containerized applications communicate in and out of clusters.
- Willingness to learn how to package apps with Helm and Kustomize.
- Ability to write simple scripts in Bash/PowerShell, Python, or Go, and openness to learning new languages as needed.
- Some familiarity with Ansible or another configuration management tool is a plus, since not everything is a container or immutable.
- Working knowledge of Linux operating systems and eagerness to deepen your troubleshooting and performance-tuning skills.
- Some exposure to Azure or other major cloud (through study, personal projects, internships, or prior experience) — we'll help you build deeper hands-on expertise.
- Interest in observability tooling like the Grafana stack (Loki, Grafana, Tempo, Mimir).
- A strong learning mindset, curiosity, and eagerness to grow into a well-rounded infrastructure engineer.
