Job Description Summary:
Project manager role for optimizing system’s mid-to-long term sourcing network and enhance supply chain operation connectivity across CPS-OU-Bottlers system.
This position will conduct mid-to-long term packaging type sourcing study, support bottlers’ SC capability investment validation and manage selective Supply chain complexities between OU, CPS and Bottlers, namely write-off reduction, innovation stock readiness for high service and Finished-Good Model supply chain incident management.
Job Description
Format base Sourcing Study
- Lead packaging type‑based mid‑to‑long term sourcing studies (e.g., RGB) across the JSK OU system.
- Analyze current and future supply network capabilities, capacity, cost structures, and risk profiles.
- Develop supply chain network optimization scenarios considering various choices for the supply planning (i.e. dual sourcing strategies, production hubs, local supply) and resilience requirements.
- Assess macro trends (sustainability regulations, PET resin availability, recycled content mandates, technology evolution) and incorporate into sourcing strategies.
- Partner closely with Procurement, Finance, and Bottlers to evaluate total system economics (TCO) and business sustainability.
- Deliver data‑driven sourcing insights and strategic recommendations to OU and System leadership.
Technical Assessment & Decision Support
- Support bottlers in evaluating supply chain and packaging capability investment proposals (mainly in areas of manufacturing & packaging lines).
- Validate investments against strategic fit, system optimization, ROI, capacity needs, and long‑term flexibility.
- Provide technical and supply chain expertise to validate and challenge, when necessary, assumptions, identify tradeoffs, and mitigate execution risks.
- Ensure investments are aligned with the OU packaging strategy, sourcing strategy, and sustainability commitments.
- Collaborate with Finance and Engineering teams to assess capital efficiency, payback periods, and scalability.
- Act as a trusted advisor to bottlers, enabling fact-based decision making and system value creation
System Supply Chain Connector
Serve as an integrative coordination function that connects plans, data, and decisions across the system to stabilize supply and minimize financial risks by enabling effective execution through alignment, visibility, and timely communication.)
- Inventory Risk Reporting Support (Pre‑ and Post‑Innovation Launch)
- Support the creation and improvement of inventory risk reports before and after product launch with a clear focus on reducing the write off risk as the primary inventory issue
- Ensure clear visibility of potential write‑off and shortage risks through timely data consolidation.
- Establish write off follow up mechanisms to monitor slow moving inventory and identify mitigation actions such as demand re allocation, production adjustment, or early consumption plans for future products.
- Support proper inventory preparation reviews for new/renewal SKUs to validate volume assumptions and exit scenarios, ensuring inventory levels are appropriate and risks are proactively managed.
- Sunset Management Support
- Support end‑of‑life (sunset) planning and execution alignment across CPS and Bottlers.
- Coordinate timelines, volume assumptions, and inventory drawdown status.
- Monitor progress and highlight risks to prevent excess inventory and write‑offs.
- Finished Goods Model Operation Support / Communication Hub
- Act as a communication hub for FG model operations and issue handling.
- Build and execute operational processes when business models cannot be supported by CPS or Platform Services,
- Lead the design and implementation of optimized supply–demand planning between bottlers and finished goods suppliers.
- Support incident management by aligning stakeholders and accelerating issue resolution.
Required / Core Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in supply chain, operations, procurement, or project management, preferably within FMCG or beverage industries.
- Strong experience in project management, leading cross functional and cross company initiatives.
- Solid understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and supply chain network design.
- Proven analytical capability with experience conducting business cases, scenario modeling, and cost analysis.
- Ability to influence without authority and work effectively across OU, bottlers, and global stakeholders.
- Fluent in Japanese; strong English communication skills required.
Preferred / Additional Qualifications
- Experience working within The Coca Cola System or other multi company franchise models.
- Familiarity with Asia Pacific supply markets and regional sourcing dynamics.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification.
- Good communication skills, including communicating to senior leadership and facilitating strategic decision forums.
