The Role

We are actively seeking dedicated and experienced Senior Consultant and Associate Director level quantity surveyors to join our dynamic team in Sydney. Working closely with and learning from our quantum experts and senior claims and commercial advisors, you will work across our service streams, providing expert witness, claims and commercial advisory services for our construction and insurance clients.

In this position you will be required to:

  • Review, compile, and analyse records using scheduling or database software.
  • Draft expert reports and claims responses/rebuttals with minimal supervision ensuring clarity, brevity, and impactful communication.
  • Act as an Assistant or Lead Assistant, overseeing technical reports, expert reports, and client strategy recommendations.
  • Work with colleagues and our Business Development Manager to help secure new client appointments and strive to continuously identify and deliver business development initiatives for the business.
  • Proactively support a positive and inclusive company, including culture, reputation, and financial success.
  • Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, law or a related field
  • Studying towards a professional accreditation with CIArb is preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years post graduate experience working for a construction or engineering contractor or specialist claims consultancy. Project delivery experience is essential
  • Experience working on contentious disputes is highly regarded, especially arbitration and/or other formal dispute resolution experience
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft large sections of professional reports
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to a non-technical audience
  • Ability to process, model and present large data sets
  • Analytical thinker and problem solver
  • High level of attention to detail
